I dont really care about the sound of the pipes as I care about performance .... which one will benefit the most for the gen 3 coyote 10 spd .... I currently have a 3inch cat back no mufflers or resonators with a x pipe ...and the car feels amazing ..top end speed is good car just wants to keep going and going ... I just dont think a H pipe will give that same feel ... I do like the sound of a h pipe more ..but again I care more about performance.

You answered your own question. If you want to squeeze out every last hp, go with an x pipe. If you're more concerned with sound get an h pipe.

You probably won’t notice it, most of the go of your car is from that 10 speed.

Like junits15 said. The unnoticeable difference is what pointed me to that double H pipe. And it's nasty.

Recently switched from Pypes h-pipe to Steeda x-pipe. I liked the H-Pipe, but the x-pipe just sounds much meaner to me.

IMHO: Compared to H-Pipe... the X-Pipe performance was more noticeable (Flows much better up-top) & the sound is much more aggressive.

Dyno: H-Pipe vs X-Pipe

Hands down a H style crossover will flow a higher CFM than a X style crossover.
Be cautious of X crossovers that have a restrictive “waist” cross section area.

10 dyno runs in a row you'll likely see no difference on avg as the delta could be so low either way. Do it based on the sound you like better.

so I heard but I had a h pipe with my mbrp race and I didn’t like the feeling, it was like all sound with not going anywhere lol just seemed loud not fast haha…… but with the 3inch x pipe I can feel it in my seat when I take off like the car just wants to keep climbing and climbing I do love the sound of the h pipe though pol

I’m wonder if your H-Pipe crossover is sized correctly. Many times the holes in the main runs are undersized and don’t match the crossover tube.
If the main runs are 3” the crossover should be 3” or 2.75”.

I had heard that before so I specifically checked for it.

(On my experience of one) My Steeda H used full diameter tubing, a full diameter internal hole and it was also quite neat on the inside :like:

I have the Steeda x-pipe on my 19 GT... its a beautiful sound.
I prefer the sound of an X-pipe so long as it’s a sweep bend X and the cross section waist diameter is 4” or more.

CORSA has done an excellent job at making sure the waist of their XX is greater than 4”
This isn’t a Windsor 302/5.0 that stops breathing @ 5,000 RPM’s. The Coyote rev’s another 3,000 RPM’s at 110% V.E. that’s a lot of CFM.
The exhaust pulse argument starts and stops at the header collector IMO.

X pipe will definitely outperform the H pipe, if you're looking for performance. I personally enjoy the sound more as well.

I'm currently running running the Roush catback exhaust with an X pipe and it is extremely loud and aggressive. I'm already concerned about neighbors complaining about the noise (the cold starts are brutal). I can't even imagine what it will sound like when I put some long tube headers and a good tune on it.

How much sound would longtube headers add, if we were to assign a %?
