Steeda H-pipe with active exhaust here and love it. Picked up some low-end torque as well. Car was heat soaked pretty good on the afternoon pulls, so pickup most likely even a little better.

Air density lower in afternoon run also , this sort of exhibits why dyno runs 7 hours apart are not always definitive especially when measuring marginal differences

i believe it was you posted this a while back, and its the reason I bought a Steeda H pipe....

Do most of my street driving in that 2k-4k RPM range, and look at those double digit torque numbers...
And I prefer the deeper sound as well, so Win-Win.

I had a Steeda H pipe in my former ride, and no active exhaust. So... now I have active exhaust and no pipe yet.. BUT I just bought a house in a 55+ years community. How loud is the AE in quiet mode with the H pipe? 🙄

I just put a Steeda H pipe on my 20 with active, and I immediately felt a difference in the low end. I was quite amazed!

Just bought a Roush cat back exhaust. Comes with the X pipe and I ordered an H pipe to replace that. But now I’m undecided. 90 percent of my driving is under 4k rpm. I want it to sound deep but want it to scream also when I hit the higher rpm’s. At the same time I want to hear the exhaust on my regular driving. What would I benefit more with?
H Pipe hands down. I've got the Steeda H on mine, and its deep and thunderous in track mode while still sounding like the fabric of space and time is ripping when its up top. Less rasp than an X up top.

It should still be fairly quiet. I’m scheduled to get mine installed in a few weeks. I leave early in the morning a few days a week for work and am not worried about waking neighbors with the H installed.

Just installed an H-pipe. What I like about it is that I can better hear all of the sounds the engine makes. From idle to low -> high RPM it's all noticeably louder, but not obnoxious. Removing the resonator allows you to more clearly hear those nice V8 sounds. And once you settle in to cruising RPM, the sound mellows out and doesn't drone at all.

If I were racing it would be HP > Tone. An X-Pipe flows better, but HP gain is minimal, and I would never notice it because I don't race. I did, however, notice that I like the sound of an H-Pipe over an X-Pipe, so I have an H-Pipe. It depends on what your priorities are.

Quiet mode is still quiet. You’ll be fine.

Stick with what you have X

great combo
"Roush cat back exhaust & X pipe "

Ignore the phony H pipe hype sounding like an old school V8. Not today or any day is that true.
A double over head cam, 32 valve, V8. Has a distinct angry sound, don't mute it with an H pipe. X also preforms better, not that any of that will convince the H pipers.

If I’d been thinking, I’d have just scheduled another dyno run the next morning. But, even with less favorable conditions for the afternoon pulls, it still showed the benefits of the H-pipe for gaining some low-end torque.

I had just driven 60 miles at 80mph running the A/C after the install, so I think, combined with the higher DA in the afternoon, probably had some effect on the top-end numbers.

I mean, if the Roush catback exhaust comes with an X-Pipe, why not just run that for a while. I'm sure they put a bit of R&D into that. If it's horrendous (which I doubt), then swap it out. Just seems counterproductive to me if I were to buy a complete catback exhaust.

That said, I run H-Pipes on my whips.

I got the cheapest H-pipe off American Muscle with my active exhaust and I get compliments on the sound all the time. Like everyone said it comes down to personal preference. I’m old school so I went with the H-pipe. If you want to sound like John Wick in his Mustang, go with the H-pipe. If you want to have a high pitched race car exhaust, go with the x-pipe.
