Anyone know of a product to repair a small rock chip in windshield? Would hate to replace the whole thing. Tried a product I found on Amazon but once dried i tried to clean it up and it pulled right out of hole and never really filled spider cracks. Thanks

The RainX windshield repair kit available on Amazon for $12-15 has worked great for me in the past. Used as directed and it did a fine job of filling the chip and outward propagation of crack lines to ensure they stopped.

Don’t wait to repair or you will be replacing the windshield.

There's a local guy with a great reputation that I use for chips and small cracks. It's not just the filler but also drill-stopping the cracks that makes the repair good or bad. "Ace Chip n Crack" is the local guy's company, and I realize they're not in Florida but maybe there's a similar company there.

As long as the crack doesn't make it to the edge it can be repaired. If its quite large most insurance companies pay for a professional to do it.

I had a small rock chip that Safelite repaired in my garage and my insurance covered 100%. Now, I can't even see where it was without really looking hard.

I did extensive research on fixing the chip myself both on this forum and watching countless YouTube videos, I am not afraid of repairing smaller things around the house or in the car. It cannot be that difficult, right? Needless to say I managed to crack the window further when applying pressure with the repair kit (otherwise it wasn't filling the chip properly). I ended up asking my insurance to replace the whole windshield at my Ford deal with OEM Ford glass. The next time I have a rock chip, I will just go to professional and pay a reasonably small fee to them to repair it, to me it's not worth the risk to even bother with this.

I used Safelite once for a rock chip and they came to my garage. Once the repair was completed I could barely see the repair. Another time I used a local shop for a rock chip and once the repair was completed I could still see the chip. I was disappointed.

If it happens again, I would ask the repair tech what I can expect with the outcome before they began the work to ensure I got the best results and not be disappointed.
