How much are you going to spend on intake/cam/tune? None of that is cheap for the S550. Still on stock headers or you going to go for those too? That's a lot of money for maybe 75whp.

~$1100 for the IM
~$300 for and intake
~$1500 cams
~$1300-$2k LT Headers

So you are over $4k and that is without a tune or and installation. Going to install the cams and headers yourself? If not add another $1500.

It adds up fast for maybe 75whp. Why not go for 225whp+ with the Whipple? Driveability will be better to in my opinion.
LT's installed myself... Catless very nice

Just so you know you definitely do NOT need to upgrade clutch/halfshafts for normal street abuse. I don't beat on my car every light, or even every time I get in the damn thing. But, when I do my stock clutch grabs just fine. I don't bounce off the rev limiter and the highest I'll spin it to is 7500rpm.
What you'll get with a daily driven PD supercharged car? A huge smile on your face when you do go WOT. Not only that the driveability of the car goes up tremendously. The one thing this car doesnt have N/A is power in the lower RPM like the old Pushrods do. The pedal feel is AMAZING now and it feels like a v8 should down low. And that's out of boost, just everyday driving. If you have the cash, do the blower. You will not regret it.

Edit: I'm now about 5,000 miles into my KB'd GT running a completely stock drivetrain aside from an MGW shifter(a friggin must if you unless you like missing shifts)

It depends on your goals. If your going for a max effort build. The supporting mods like cams n half shafts help. Not needed though

Feel free to give us a shout for any questions on your boost setup

Without going into brand war here,,, Whipple is a great system!! I just went Roush.
I went from a Brenspeed 93 tune to my Roush and so glad I did. I am on stock shafts, stock clutch and have had no issues with either. Like a post had referenced, unless you go to sticky tires and live at the strip the rest of your drive train will be fine.
The power difference between your tune and F/I is night and day! You will not believe how much low end torque that engine is capable of. IMO F/I is the biggest/best mod available for the s550!

I had Brenspeed do my install, although I think I am more than capable, the price of labor for piece of mind. Brenspeed puts on 2 a day and know exactly what's going on, for instance of just changing my thermostat, I might have over looked that. Now I haven't had an issue at all on mine after about 6k miles but if I did I knew I had expected tech's for help.

Did my install in my small garage with basic hand tools. It was very easy and straight forward. The front bumper cover didnt even come off.
I eventually plan on getting a clutch on my list next(that'll be the first to go) then I'll start worrying about everything after the trans before I get some sticky tires and see what she can do at the strip. But for right now, shes a very fun street car that should beat about anything out there. From a roll of course...

Even owning a Roush, which I love. I believe the Whipple install would be a much easier self install. No cutting of K brace and grinding. I see on the F/I threads that their are plenty of members for help plus Whipple seems to be pretty active on thread also.
I just can't stress enough how much you will love a SC'er!! Obsol3te stated I can take just about anything in my area,, " from a rolling start " lol !!

Been saving for a Whipple stage 2 plus fans. Almost there... Wondering if I should just go with GT350 intake and cams, maybe a few cosmetic mods? If I go Whipple, won't have money to upgrade anything else for a while (imma cash only kinda guy) just looking for some general input. I already have Lund tune, SW catless full exhaust and steeda CAI.

Thanks

WHIPPLE FTW!!:headbang::headbang: You could get away with the OPG and sprocket as we had our stock and we were pushing over 850rwhp and had no issues. You could get away with fans but if your in Florida like us we saw a nice difference in temps during the summer heat with and without the fans. Shoot me a PM and I can help you out with getting you a good price!

Installed my own Stage 2 Whipple from Lethal on my '16 PP without any hiccups and even went down a pulley to the 3.675. I am running all stock components in the engine, and all stock drivetrain with the stock 3:75 gears. I do have plenty of suspension upgrades and the MGW shifter. I don't 1/4 mile track it but I have done plenty and continue to do full track racing using its full potential. Also I don't have the fans and have never felt an issue for needing them even in the CA summer. I have an aftermarket grill as well that allows volumes more air flow than the stock setup. If you do go this way, I have notes that I can PM u for your self install that may be very handy in addition to Whipple's instructions.
