Money is not an issue in some cases. Sometimes it losing the warranty or losing the OEM drivability. Sometimes it is not wanting someone to go inside your motor and possibly make a mistake (including yourself).

I can tell you this. Money is not the issue with me and I simply cannot pull the trigger on a supercharger because of all the other B.S. that seems to have to go with it.

My apologies to the O.P. for bringing up the gears in this thread. My only objective was to get Lethal to specify if "basically stock" meant stock oil pump gears.
I can see what you are saying but if you don't trust yourself to do it then you must find someone that you trust and has the ability to do the job correctly. Often times when a warranty repair is done on an engine you very rarely get a whole new engine, it's usually a short block and they re use the heads. In many cases the owner is not happy with the outcome as they don't like the fact that the entire engine wasn't replaced and now they have a fear that something will go wrong due to some of the old parts being used. Many times there can be physical damage done to the vehicle such as scratches or dents. I think it would be safe to say that most people have faith in the factory engine so IMO it would be best to use that as a base and upgrade it as you see fit. The word warranty has a grey area for many as the completed repairs may not be up to some peoples expectations.

When going forced induction you must consider the fact that you are in most cases doubling the factory horsepower, so one must expect to do the necessary supporting mods. If you aren't then I would suggest doing cosmetic upgrades and leaving the drivetrain stock. I believe Lethal has since sold that blue car but I do recall them stating that it had stock OPG and CG.

That is kinda what I was saying. It is never the same. Better to put a whole new engine heads.

Smart man. And this is exactly what got me going into the direction of OPG/TG mod. Angry does not understand that warranty is not always good. Why you ask? How many stories have we heard over the years of dealers making more mistakes and causing repairs. I have had issues with my car and I fix it myself with my money. They want you to drop off car and wait and wait and wait. And hope it is done correct. I have a friend with a brand new car with a crank sensor code that they the dealer cannot figure out. Been there for well over a week and still nothing. So my point is do the OPGs and take the heartache of dealing with the dealer.

if they dont do it right then they do it again. maybe its different in other areas but my dealership has always been super helpful when it comes to repairs. I still dont see the point of endangering my warranty if im not already doing something that could potentially void it.. Like i said im not against the upgrades as like you said most people that do boost will eventually want to turn it up but some people are good sitting at factory safe specs.
