we have yet to ascertain that the intake and all of it's couplers is the source of the problem that lead to crazy-high fuel trims. Nor do we know how Lund "solved" the problem - did they ship a tune so GD rich and not bat an eye at the deviation from "norms"? Who knows.

Personally an intake is the dumbest waste of money I can think of for S550.
When you are fbo e85 cammed it's not.

Personally, I don't think it's the intake. The reason Derell thinks it's the intake is because the stock air box car was fine but then switching to the JLT is when it had problems. I've ruled out pretty much everything I can with the intake. The only thing more I could do is a smoke test or buy another of the same intake.

I mean I installed my JLT in a few minutes leak free. So maybe I do need to show you how it’s done.

how about putting the OE intake back on? Or is the JLT supplied MAF (location) so whack that there's no hope of the current tune responding to OE signals?

You mentioned "straighten the air" with mesh - back when I was using pumper carbs we had vanes that helped to focus the air but they were >2" long to help settle down the vortexes. what sort of dimensions is your mesh?

The screen was trying to trouble shoot. A screen will straighten the air enough to show if there is turbulent air at the sensor.

@tdstuart
I found a log you sent me last year from Lund, the trims were at 15% , so like I thought he just increased the MAF curve.

I haven't yet looked at your log you sent today.

No I can totally go back to the oem. I should make more power with the JLT however.

And it was just a thin screen, think window screen except metal.

And then can you show me how to build my motor? I’m sure there is much to learn from you. I’m sure you’ve built lots of motors and done lots of stuff to your car that I haven’t.

Or maybe you can accept that I know enough to install a JLT intake and it’s not as simple as “I’m a dumbass”.

Sorry tristan but I can't sit and let some think a forum vendor screwed up when they didn't.

These pics were sent to me on May 8 2022 by @tdstuart second one was captioned leak fixed.

Don't be sorry. I don't have any beef with Wengerd, this isn't a thing I am doing to ruin his reputation just to ruin it. Post all the evidence you have. If Wengerd didn't do anything wrong and Lund is lying to me then I would rather know. I am just stating things as I know it.

Also just to re-iterate I did have shifting issues with the Wengerd tune that Lund did fix.

The pictures show my many attempts at making a band-aid fix for the JLT to make sure that the tiny leak I found wasn't messing with the trims. Never did it make a difference. These were all while being tuned my wengerd.

And yes as I've stated the JLT had a small leak which I played with. It only leaked when pushed very hard to the side. So I taped it up, used rtv sealant, and held it straight with my finger. Never did it change the fuel trims. My temporary fixes didn't last long and over time the JLT seal started ripping (wasn't torn when originally talking with Wenger). So I bought a new connector and changed the breather hose to just a plain hose so that it didn't put any pressure. Even after this permanent fix I don't think my trims got any better as shown in my old messages to Lund I sent you in DMs.

some elaboration is probably warranted to clarify "shifting issues".

The trans issue I don't know about nor will I speculate.

To properly fix that leak it needs to be plastic welded. I also have had sucess using JB weld and RTV.

It is not still taped is it?

If so it would explain your slower than expected 60 to 120 times.

Am I wrong in saying that you also have a Gen 3 intake manifold . Just curious by your cpv mounting .

I can't find the log right now but I did find the PM where I told you the Lund tune fuel trims are jacked. Adding 15%. I believe this was the tune they said was finished and said there was nothing wrong with the JLT.

Yep gen3. The reason it was having issues is because it’s a 2018+. My stock breather hose was pulling on it, and in my testing could make it leak. I tried different methods of sealing it, nothing changed the fuel trims. Then I just bought a new connector and just a basic hose I cut to length.
