20 all day :) I have always done 20. Looks the best IMHO, and I can see pretty good with my old tired eyes. I made the mistake of doing 5% on my 22 GT and it was too dark :) But, 35 does look pretty good, if you are going to have legality issues...

20% tint on mine, no tint on windshield..
That looks darker than 20%. I think I have 20%, if you go any more than that , you risk getting pulled over just for the tint which I didnt want. 20% is illegal in Florida but tons of people have it and Ive never had any issues. I did have 5% back in the day on a different car like 20 years ago and would not do that again. 28 is max legal in florida but probably rarely enforced.

I’m not saying it’s no longer a violation, I’m just saying LEO’s don’t really enforce it anymore. It’s more used as a probable cause tool. I do agree with you though. For others including me, you do what you can stand šŸ˜‰
True, which means they can pull you over at any given time. If they’re having a bad day, or you catch them at the wrong time, it’s game over. The likely hood of being pulled over with a darker tint is higher.

I agree, it does look a bit dark, but I questioned twice when they installed and it is 20... I had 5% on my 22 Grabber Blue GT. It definitely is much darker, it was like spray paint after dark :frown:

I’ll be the outlier and say whatever is legal in your area! once you are on the radar of the local po-po, it’s game over, he will pull you over every dam time…ask me how I know, and why my tint is now legal šŸ˜‚
Unfortunately the legal limit near me is 50 lol.

Nice!! Any issues with visibility? Did you also get your rear window tinted 20%? Is that harder to see out of with the auto dimming mirror?
Thank you, and yes, I typically do all but the windshield at 20%. Auto dimming mirror results in cars behind me just being headlights at night, but that’s all I really need. Reversing, I use the backup cam on my vehicles.

I’m in FL and very much value interior comfort and protection from the sun. I have not seen anyone hassled for 15-20% in my state (just the 5% crowd).

I’ve started to do Llumar Air 80 on my windshields, as well, for cooling and UV protection.

I have 20%. Factory ā€œtintā€ for SUV’s and other cars that come tinted from factory is 20%, although it’s dyed glass and not actual tint film. I did not tint my front windshield, visibility out of the sides and rear isn’t an issue. As others have said, go with ceramic tint.

Perfect, good to know. Is your car Rapid Red? It's beautiful!

It’s great the police have not bothered you yet. Being from Chicago myself I would get pulled over all the time in my ā€˜88 and ā€˜90 GT’s. I just learned to avoid those towns and drive around them. Lol.
I’m friends with several of the local police officers and have been told numerous times it’s not high on their priority list. They’ll bust you if they nab you for something else but otherwise they leave it alone. And most of them have tints much darker than mine LOL

Right and if they get pulled over they flash their shield and if it is only tint they get let go.

Had mine done 35%, which is the legal limit in MA. Couple of my other cars are 20% ,but almost impossible to see out of in non-lite areas.
