I think they are in worse shape than Ford. They are still having an issue with the DCT cases leaking. There is a shortage of replacement transmissions.

The Z06 looks to be amazing. Ford already did an amazing thing with the Voodoo engine, even with all the packaging constraints, and other compromises. It is an extremely visceral and emotional engine, that also has great performance. From a numbers perspective, GM has blown the Voodoo out of the water (but no surprise given the budget difference and the ability to go with so much bigger bores). If the engine is anywhere close to as exciting as the Voodoo, GM will have a winner on their hands, IMO.

I love seeing what companies can do when they unleash the engineers from the budget constraints and let them go nuts. This engine will be amazing (when it works), and hopefully reliable.

Someone else mentioned it, and I agree, that the car is difficult to justify for the street (depending on the roads available). I live in a hilly/mountain region, and when I went from my 350Z to my GT350 I didn't notice the weight change much (since the GT350 carries itself extremely well), but I did notice the size different (especially width). The roads where I live are too twisty and narrow to get great use out of the GT350, and I can't imagine what it would be like to try and drive a Z06 on them. You wouldn't be able to push the car at all due to its extreme limits.

I would love to own one, and someday may try to find one, but right now I'm actually more interested in the new Z. I wouldn't be giving up the GT350 for one, but I think it would be interesting to get back into something smaller, with shorter gearing.

Either way, the GT350 stays!

No doubt a pretty cool motor. However, I wonder two things. Why no variable cam timing? I think this is going to be like a bike motor in a car (i.e. like BMW S65) what is the below 3,000 rpm part throttle driveability going to be like? It's a street car after all and if there's not enough torque to peel the skin off a rotten banana, it won't be very fun.
Do you think that 0 to 60 MPH in 2.6 seconds will be any fun let alone a 1/4 mile time somewhere in the 10's!

It is not standard. It is a rather expensive option. Not sure if that option is even available for the Z07.
it comes optional on 2LT and 3LT. 1500 is not a lot. Goes up to 2K for 2021. The system stores up 1000 locations. Sounds like a great deal.

all ford had to do was reduce the stroke to 80-83mm and use their albatross bore spacing. 4.5L of displacement is more than enough for anyone. Just like 640K was. I doubt very much Voodoo sales would have taken a hit. Or are American buyers incapable of thinking past their dick/splacement size?

Its gonna be faster the the supercharged 6.5 liter it replaced. And that thing had plenty of torque.

$2260 for 2022 and may not even be available for the Z07. I've already expressed my opinion on CF wheels and splitter scape with my experience owning my R. Don't get me wrong. I love my R but I'd forego the Z07 pkg in C8 Z. And if the 2LZ clearance is higher than my R I'd forego there too.

Agree on the scrape picking best car. I would imagine they keep it for the Z07. I went from 350 scrape on speed bumps @ work to 500 and a lot better now.

At least in my book, I'd much rather have high revs than high torque
I’m glad both are available, I love the torque of my 392 smashing the pedal at 30 and going sideways is a lot of fun.

With a DCT, it'll be easy enough to give the Z06 plenty of gearing to provide torque at the rear wheels for launching without running out of steam on the top end.

You seem have all the answers. When can we expect to see the performance car you will be putting in to production? :captain:

Must be pretty lonely at the top! haha.ahaahha. Wonder what it feels like to realize that others have been laughing at you for so long...not with you.
