No doubt a pretty cool motor. However, I wonder two things. Why no variable cam timing? I think this is going to be like a bike motor in a car (i.e. like BMW S65) what is the below 3,000 rpm part throttle driveability going to be like? It's a street car after all and if there's not enough torque to peel the skin off a rotten banana, it won't be very fun.

Do some of yous grasp the concept of torque and what its function is ? This is a 8600 rpm motor.. And concerned about below 3000 rpm performance ? It'll do just fine.

I like it, but I'll leave final judgement until I see it in person and read/see all the performance numbers.
Gonna be an expensive car, that's for sure.

Actually, this has been a great thread. Very informative. More so than on the big Corvette forum board which I am also on. They are already lambasting any that mention a negative.

Heh ............. I'll let you do it. :) Unless I am gifted with a low milage C7, I will stick to what I have. I like the way the Mustang feels and drives.

Yeah, when you have an automatic trans you just step on it and the computers do their thing. Nothing to worry about there.

They already have. BG just had to cut back to a single shift again due to supplier issues. They can't keep up with the base C8 orders as is. It's going to be interesting to see how they add the Z06 to the mix.
