If the stereo is the biggest issue with this car when it arrives, I will be very happy.
I did not buy it for the stereo. I happy Ford decided not to put a $2500 sound system,
and cut some performance bits to keep costs down. Guys this is a very affordable sports
car, with some serious performance capabilities. If I was concerned about
sound systems, moon roofs and auto this and that I would have shopped a totally different car. Seems like many have bought the wrong car for what they want :)
I agree with this. The stereo is roughly equivalent to what's in all Mustangs. I'm sure it's the same speakers. Ford spent the money to make the car perform, not on the sound system.

I just got my Tech car on Sunday and I don't even know if the radio works! ;)

My likes:
1. The Red Button.
2. The exhaust toggle switch that looks like a pair of binoculars.
3. Seats are very comfortable.
4. I can actually see the Nav screen... I guess that's the radio too? ;)
5. I haven't really noticed the magnaride yet as I only have about 30 miles in and I have not really messed with those settings yet.
6. Someone mentioned, in another thread, that Sync 3 might get Apple Play or something like that in the future?
7. I actually prefer the look of the small spoiler in person. (probably the only person to admit that)
8. ... so much more I haven't discovered!

My Dislikes: (These are not bad dislikes)
1. It does feel like a big car coming from a 370Z, but the extra 200hp should fix that?
2. So many buttons everywhere! Did I mention I really like that exhaust toggle switch? :D
3. I kind of wish the oil pressure and temp gauges off to the right where angled slightly towards the driver.
4. My head hits the roof-line/rear window if I sit in the back seat and I'm only 5'4". Good thing I won't be sitting back there! ;)
5. Small gas tank.

more of a personal issue...
6. That I have to drive it in the rain to get some miles on it before I can pass SMOG in order to register the car in California. Maybe I'll test out the weather mode today.
7. The city of San Jose "banned" washing your car at home and I really need to get that "Nebraska salt" off! Rain should help, right?

In summary... I have no regrets with opting for the tech pack as most of my dislikes are toward either version, which are very nitpicky dislikes in the first place.

If you want a comfortable all'rounder, Tech Pack.

If your racing is measured in "seasons" and not "sessions", Track Pack.

If you just want go fast, like making noise, and aren't a phrils guy, or wanting to HEAVILY modify the car's suspension because you're not really buying all this magma rider malarkey ( :D ), Base.

I would love to know the behind-the-scenes Ford story on the poor audio system. I have posted in the S550 forum here that the Sony systems in my wife's 2013 Fusion and daughter's 2014 Focus Titanium sound really beautiful, especially compared to the Mustang's base Shaker audio system.

Maybe Ford now owns the Shaker business entity, and has some sweet intracompany pricing.

I loved the analogy to the stereo sounding like a small Radio Shack speaker. I agree - the little ones you would use in your do-it-yourself tone generator projects.

I had the shaker 1000 in my previous car, and it was a good system.
I rarely listen to it, when the wife is in the car, she turns it on and we listen.
I doubt I will listen to it much, but if it will only cost $5-600 to improve whats all the bitching about? Most of us will spend more on wraps, waxes or protective films LOL.
I understand ford put a cheap stereo in the car, my point was I am glad that is where
they went cheap. I realize many here would rather have a great sound system worth
1000's and then they would have bitched about the price?
Some people just have to have something to complain about or they're not happy :)
As to all those who are so "thankful" to Ford for producing such an amazing performance car (which I fully agree it is) at such a reasonable price that they don't care that Ford skimped on the audio system, I'd say Ford managed to produce precisely that for the base price of $49,995.

Perhaps our complaints would be unfounded if we got the base version.
But what did we get for the extra $7500 we paid for a "Tech" pkg?
Sure, I'd get it just for the Magnaride but how much should that cost? $2500 - $3500? So then I'm paying $4,000 for semi-powered seats, Synch3 with Nav and a crappy sound system?

We're not saying we expected an audiophile grade sound system. But in this digital day and age it simply is not difficult for a mfr to put in at least a decent sounding system. It just boggles the mind. The system is so below even minimum expectations and out of place in this otherwise magnificent car that it almost equates to a big tear in the seats or gouge in the paint.

I only hope, as someone suggests, that it'll cost $500 - $600 to fix.
