This was a very interesting and excellent video from Ken at Palm Beach Dyno. He first talks about how good the new Z06 (race) engine-architecture is, then he dyno compares the Z06 FPC (projected) with the GT350 FPC (actual). All 12 minutes is worth the watch:

Cool video, but it looks like the GT350 torque curve is way off. He has it putting out over 450 lb-ft at 4700 RPM, and it isn’t showing the dramatic torque dip under 3500 RPM. None of that changes the story much, although I do think the GM motor will be even better down low than the Voodoo than this story implies.

I don’t think Ford will try to counter with anything. They have gone the turbo route for big power, and their production line is limited to the smaller bore spacing. I suspect Ford will look towards electrification, turbos, or super chargers to get the big power numbers.

As much as I love my GT350, the FPC in the Z06 and the entire C8 architecture is just in another league. Its apples and oranges. The vodoo revs way too slow, as slow as the pushrod v8 in my ZR1. Z06’s Gemini revs as fast if not faster than the flat 6 in GT3. Ford made this FPC but because of cutting corners in intake and exhaust, they had to make these massive counter weights defeating part of the purpose of the FPC (light crank/quick revving) in the first place. Still love it and its a unique car.

This is an interesting video as well. Explains the neat little things in the new LT6.
Very cool.

Yeah, not really showing the torque issues with the GT350 under 3500rpm, which is odd.

He should have overlaid the coyote dyno graphs as well, under 4000rpm it is way up on both the voodoo and projected Z06 graph.
