nice... I haven’t seen that video. I’ll have to check it out.

that’s amazing power on an open deck, stock gen 3 block.

the closed deck predator block is going to be strong AF!!

@olaosunt
I just don’t like the compression is too low on the predator motor. They ring the stock blower to 20-22psi for 959whp

He was referring to the bare block.
Most are stuffing the block with 12:1 compression pistons .

Most impressive about David’s stock gen 3 was the tear down. The motor showed no wear. Bearings, pistons rods, and cylinder walls looked brand new. He was at least running 1200whp on that motor on multiple passes. Also his motor had the tick.
That was impressive to see. -And a significant point to emphasize is he was running penzoil platinum 5w-30. Didn't touch 5w-50.

At 1100+ whp... 5-50 is probably the better choice but i doubt he'll every change anything seeing as how well this motor has treated him.

Maybe on a turbo build, I'd never run 5/30 with a PD blower

Talking about using the Predator block in a build, not referencing the complete engine.
What so special about the predator block? It’s the same cast aluminum as the gen 3. With slightly larger bore. I think the gt350 has the same block as the predator now.

It's not the same as gen3. It has a closed deck, longer head studs and 3.700 bore.

Second gen voodoo is very similar but not the same. Voodoo oil squirters drilled into mains, predator has coyote style squirters. Predator also has clearanced skirts to accommodate larger rod bolts.

True talk except the head studs/bolts(12mm) are the same length as the Gen3 coyote .

There seems to be a bit of confusion over what head studs will fit the Predator block. Example, ARP lists different part numbers for 18up coyote and 16-20 5.2l.
