Most impressive about David’s stock gen 3 was the tear down. The motor showed no wear. Bearings, pistons rods, and cylinder walls looked brand new. He was at least running 1200whp on that motor on multiple passes. Also his motor had the tick.

I had got the tick on factory oil. No tick at after an oil change. The only time the car ticks is after cold start. I drive it around and it never ticks again. Unless the car sits for 3 days not fired up. It ticks for 5 minutes then goes away.
