Because of the possibility manufacturer apps accessing personal data on a phone, I am planning to use a "virgin" simless phone for those apps. That phone can get whatever internet it needs via wi-fi from the real phone's hot-spot.

I know this is a GT500 thread, but I have a '22 GT and was wondering if anyone can tell me if the module in the pic below is the correct one. If it is, which of the three connectors get disconnected. The second picture shows better the orientation of the module in front of the left rear taillight.

Yes, that's the one. Pull the power/data harness as well as the 2 coaxial leads. Technically, just pulling the data/power harness will get the job done, but why not since you are there.

Yes, that's it. I pulled all wires that I could, and also pulled the fuse. No issues whatsoever. If you get into the software and try to access the modem you'll see a message stating that it's unavailble.

The final objective of this connectivity stuff is to eliminate private vehicle ownership altogether. In the not so distant future, all vehicles will be leased, all features will be remotely activated or deactivated on a subscription basis, and the car will be disabled if the computer thinks that it should be. By 2026, all new vehicles are mandated to have technology to detect and remotely disable the car if the driver is drunk, for example.

The bigger picture is to eliminate capitalism altogether. Read the Communist Mainifesto. Some will call me a crazy hippie, but just wait. The writing is on the wall.

For me, it's just that I own the car and I do not wish my data to be collected or shared. It's my car, not Ford's.

i disconnected that stuff and my key was no longer detected. (22 GT). anybody else?

I disconnected all three connectors and removed #8 fuse and all functions on my key fob work fine and car starts and runs.

No need to remove the fuse. By pulling the power/data harness, you have completely disabled the module.

If you use a scan tool, you will see that the TCM has errors. However it will not throw a
CEL.

hmm i was doing some other stuff at the time maybe i unhooked something else by mistake.
i'll try an isolated test.

update: so i unhooked a some things under the parcel shelf cover and i guess i got a little too aggressive when i was doing the sound deadening install. sure enough, disconnected those 3 things at the module and she fired right up.
