My theory is if you are adding an intercooler for performance, why would you worry about any little hit in MPGs from removing the shutters? Take them off and let more air get to that intercooler!

Only reason I could see for not wanting to remove them is to prevent condensation build up when cruising at highway speeds. Which, is a prominent issue on the 3.5L EB's.

No, they are not present on 50th AEs and I believe convertibles too.

Ok thanks. I think that is why i am going to go MAP when i get my intercooler. I don't want to start hacking the car up so looking for a direct bolt on.

Do you guys still plan on receiving and shipping your CAI'S this week?

That is what we are shooting for, we sold our CNC lathe for a bigger and badder one but unfortunately it's delivery is being delayed so we had to have another company machine the PCV bungs. I hope to have them this week or next week and ship same day as they arrive.

Im not bad mouthing MAP btw, the wait was murder on me like i said, because of the reasons i listed (i ordered everything through them!) and they DO respond very very quickly if you write, just telling the dude not to expect updates without asking for them. Also the site IS abundantly clear that the cores are on backorder and if you call they will quote you 3 to 4 weeks. Thats as crystal clear as it can get if you ask me. I will review them despite them being popular around here, mainly because its my first go with them. And so far on communication i really do have to give them a solid solid 10/10

Im not bad mouthing the company or your products. What gets me, is the fact that I PM'd you and you clearly stated if I ordered that day, we are looking at 2 weeks. If you read the PM I sent you and your reply you will see Im not making this up. Well its been past 2 weeks and now Im calling your contact line and now Im told an additional 3 weeks from today.
Again, I being that I work for Ford service department, understand when stuff gets on backorder how frustrating it is to a customer, but we deal with huge number of customers and find ways to let them know updates. And that's something that maybe can be worked on by your company. Always strive for customer service to be on the top notch level. Again, maybe Im rambling and maybe I should PM you about this, but all I would like was an update from time to time to make sure everything is on schedule or is behind.
Anyways, Im not trying to be a jerk either.. I will leave it at that.

2 weeks from your order date was yesterday, and we started shipping orders Monday. So, the 2 week ETA so far is off by 1 day and the rest are being finalized today and more cores are on the way as we are sold out yet again.

Unfortunately these delays are out of our control because we order cores in from Australia and the inbound port is very slow to clear our freight shipment. Another issue is the fact that they shipped out 20 cores for our other product (EVO X) instead of 20 cores for Mustang so we lost a full month waiting on them to correct their mistake. However because of the wait and delay we upgraded everyone on this last batch of 10 to coated intercoolers for free which we were going to make a $100.00 option. I hope that makes up for some of the wait time.

These would of all went out last week if 2.5" Aluminum pipe for the end tanks would of arrived on time, but it looks like we just can't trust anybody to provide us with quality material on time lately. Sorry for the delay, but we are working to get it done.

Regarding getting updates to customers, again if we were dealing with maybe 10-15 people per day and 1 manufacturer it would be very feasible to keep them up to date. However we are not, we are dealing with 200-300 orders per day, and have a same amount of communication with people per day. It's just not possible with that volume of customers, and a huge amount of different vendors, distributors, and manufacturers that we have to rely on to get us information to forward onto the customer.

There was zero loss or gain from me removing my shutters and that's with 1000s of miles put into my car with it.

You're not hacking anything up, they come off and come back on and they're useless think weight savings

One would tend to think the engine bay would be slightly cooler without the shutters. However, aero dynamics can fool you.

Its awesomely built, welds look war proof and it still had the dust you get when sanding metal, you can tell it was fabricated by someone who knows his stuff!! As soon as the sun goes down out comes the ol tool box!!! The intake is a piece of art, and the chrge pipes, while not the usual aluminum im used to, seem to be war proof too with ridges at the end LIKE THEY SHOULD.
Im gonna go at it without jacks and withour removing the front bumper. Ill use ramps. Ill ramp it, install the ic, take it down and install the rest. Then do a log for adam hopefully before i go to sleep. YEEEESSSSS

Awesome! Good luck with the install. I did mine on ramps too and it wasn't bad at all. I did mine in 35° weather on my carport because I'm impatient, so it took almost double the time it normally would lol.
