I am a pretty serious drag racer, but I don't see the stock shortblock taking much more than 500 RWHP. I have no current plans to upgrade that.......current being the operative word. LOL.
Lmaooo

I'm interested to see how they do. If everything is reliable at 450-500whp I'll be happy.

guys im close to ordering intercooler/CAI combo from MMR as well as a tune from Bama.. the tune process seem relatively easy, however I was never much of a car modding guy until i got my EB. I really don't want to mess up installing the intercooler or cold air intake. do you think it would be worth paying RIP tuning $350 to get those 2 bolt on parts installed?
Its not worth it to me. I'm able to do it myself and part of the enjoyment of modding is working on my car?

Who has done cold weather validation for condensation of these larger ICs? I'm sure these are great for below the snow belt, but everywhere else we have winter to worry about.
Anyone?

Do it yourself, you'll learn a lot while doing it, easy but likely a bit time consuming.

Details to come, but there's some track testing this week and we'll let you know alot more about it in the next week or two! They've been doing alot of datalogging with temperatures on the stock setup in different conditions since the day it showed up back in October. They've also been cranking away with the new intercooler and this week will be down south racing it to find out what types of gains the cooler temperatures allow for.

That seems like a great question that's gone unanswered so far, unless I missed something in a vendor specific IC thread.

Would people in humid climates need to worry as well, like, say, Texas?
Just seems like if the IC is really good, the cool air going over the warmer air inside the pipes would cause condensation pretty easily when it's already a humidity of 75%+...or is my logic as flawed as a sitcom character's?

I did a brief browsing on google and this doesn't seem like a real problem on anything except the F150.

Point being, if it was a common issue page one of google would be filled with all kinds of cars having problems.

I'm not worried about it and I doubt anyone else should be either.

A simple answer would be the same thing that will happen with the stock intercooler but possible to a different degree. Lets not forget air to air intercoolers are nothing new, they have been around for decades on factory applications, just as upgraded intercoolers can be found on applications around the world including Rally teams in the snow, bottom line, we have never heard of an issue due to this and do not feel like it is an issue either way.

According to google: Seems to only affect ecoboost F150's and the cause in my brief reading is unknown. Also... Seems to only be the stock IC.

Volkswagen put a bulletin out a few months back about their cars having the issue. My wife's TDI is one affected by it, but I haven't seen anything in cold or moist Pittsburgh weather yet.

I had a VW tdi and never had any issues. I guess it's something to keep in mind if problems come up but I'm not worried about it.

That's where I read about it exactly. VW TDI for F-150 ecoboost forums.

I admit I don't understand why it would be different for some IC set-ups and not others, but just thought I'd pose the question. Up until I read about that, it sounded like getting a better IC was a no brainer for many reasons...
