New MAP Intercooler incoming!

Worked with Adam at MAP today. Great guy.. Hooked me up the MAP Billet Intercooler and a tune for my Cobb Tuner. Great response time.. answered all my noob questions and was very helpful! Left him a message and he called me back in about 20 mins.

Now the wait begins... can't wait to get this puppy installed.. Thanks for all the info in this thread.. even if it took me 11 days to read it all :)

Thanks Adam!

Appreciate the help!

Thanks Adam and everyone else for the tips,Adam gave me an email to let me know that the first tune is a base base low then stock power tune to see what the car is doing,This explains everything,I jumped the gun and got nervous for nothing,Truly thought I may have done something wrong. Thanks Again Tune+ for being patient with a newbee.

Has anyone used the MAPerformance race intercooler? If so, what are your thoughts on it? I am doing the F150 twin turbo upgrade for my V6 and considering this intercooler for my project. Really concerned with the temperature drop produced by this intercooler, i.e. what is the termperature drop that this intercooler produces?. Sorry if this has been previously discussed but I did not want to read through every post on all 36 pages.

Thank you,
-Kody

The intercooler itself is only being run a few vehicles and our test data is not anywhere near complete for a well rounded answer, though I can say this is our most efficient intercooler to date and with such a massive core, to matching the air volume you will be throwing at it, I think this will stick to near 100* flat just like our street intercooler will on a stock turbo and more.

PS I had no idea you could mount that turbo setup on a V6 Mustang and I'm intrigued lol.

Thanks for the response, you can follow my build thus far in the members projects category if you would like to see more. Anyways, how does the race intercooler compare to your other upgraded stock intercooler?

I will check in on this build for sure! It is a completely different animal. I recommend this for those whom are looking for massive cooling while still wanting something that fits with only the removal of the AGS (if that applies). The RIK is something I also recommend for higher volume turbo customers and those who are in extreme climates and need the extra savings on IAT. It is a LOT bigger therefore will eat up a tiny bit of spool in comparison, but the trade off is a huge temp difference.

I'm currently otherwise stock with a Cobb AP3 on a Tune+93 tune. My plans for my build are downpipe, intercooler and catback; the basic bolt ons. I live in south Florida where temps range from 60 in the winter to 100 in the summer with high humidity. I don't plan on upgrading the turbo or using anything other than 93. I am open to the possibility of a meth kit but will probably use water in it for cooler daily driving. What IC would be best for my plans, do I really need to go for something like a race IC, or will a street IC be suitable for keeping me cool and with plenty of power with aggressive street driving on the hottest of days? If anyone's for some insight on this, I'd love to know before dropping $700-$800 on an IC that might be overkill. (Or maybe I'll get lucky and win the MAP Race) :p

I was told a street intercooler was plenty enough for a car under 600hp so thats what I have bought. Now I need to find the time to get it put on when its not 100 degrees outside !
I bought a Levels street version and its massive compared to the stock unit
