I'm both a gadget nut and buying a car to last 10 years. MFT is already out of date in regards to the capabilities. Waiting for a 2016 (mostly finances, anyway, not just sync) isn't the worst thing.
If you purchase a brand new iPhone 6 today, you know its going to out of date next fall, right? Keep waiting, be it the latest MFT or anything else, it too shall soon be redundant!

Just the "touch capacitive" screen will be amazing, to be able to have it respond just like a smart phone, with pinch and zoom, etc will be a great improvement !!
It would be "amazing" if Ford included Sirius Satellite Radio as Standard Equipment beginning with their "Base" Radio`s!

Cell phones get updated every year. Same cannot be said of automotive infotainment systems. This one is a pretty major upgrade from the MFT that's been used over the past few years.

If I was a 5.0 V8 enthusiast I would be more concerned of the elimination of the that engine option in the next couple of years. Some new fangled IT gadget will pop up with a new ".02" revised upgraded edition during the course of the same MY run. Just another excuse for (more) distracted driving, IMO.

Sync 3 will have App Link !!! I like how responsive, like an iPhone, that new screen will be. It appears it's on day mode in this video as it has the brighter screen. I'll probably have mine on night mode most of the time. Can't wait for that responsive touch capacitive screen. I know the current older tech MFT display sometimes you have to touch it a couple times to get a response. This system is just so much faster than MFT.

Anyone know if Android Auto will be compatible with Sync 2?

I have no desire for the "Premium" trim add-ons, except for the Sync 3 system, and hoping I don't have to wait/hope the 2017 PP GT has Sync 3 installed.

Right now it looks like Sync3 isn't going to have Android Auto - at least for a while, so wouldn't count on Sync2.

While Sync 3 will support Apple's voice-activated personal assistant, Siri, the system is not Apple CarPlay or Android Auto friendly, though plans are in the works to upgrade Sync 3 systems to accommodate the in-car operating systems from the two tech giants. Currently, dozens of automakers -- from Hyundai to Ferrari -- either have these systems or are planning to bring them online in the coming few years.

BB is in trouble, I feel they are grasping at straws and gasping for breath as a company... I'm glad I got the Sync 2, integrates with iPhone w/o issues and I don't mind the GUI over the 3. That's hideous...

 Oh Ford, seriously? You're going to be late to the party with Android Auto integration? I guess I'll have to wait for navigation. At least SYNC3 is easily upgradeable.

I personally think it would be wise to wait for SYNC 4.0 or 5.0. By then it will be able to prepare your Micro-Wave Dinner, Pop your Popcorn, adjust the Thermostat in your House and probably Walk your Dog too! I got a novel idea. How about just disconnecting all these Tech Gadgets and simply concentrate on driving. Perhaps resulting in a few less accidents and lower Auto Insurance premiums might be the result, OMG!
