Turn the car on first, let the sync system come up, then plug in your phone. You should get messages on both the phone and the car screen to authorize car play.

No, the upgraded single port hub will let you retain the functionality of that port also. The new hub has the same connection that runs to the front port just like the original does. It's just the newer port has the necessary hardware built in it to let apple car play function.
The answer is pretty simple. If you like to row the gears all the time then get the manual. If you don't then get the Auto. Don't base it on which is faster because 99.9% of the time the difference, if any, won't matter in your daily driving.

Android Auto works with google maps. Don't need navigation as it is getting its data from the phone. I just wish it worked with waze. Hopefully it will by the time the Mustang gets the update... in a year! Lol
