Anyone with '18 car can actually has 3.3 (or later) available in owner.ford.com ? Like someone above, mine shows 3.0 available (which I have installed)
That would be me...I ended up chatting with a Sync Rep online and they looked up my VIN and said 3.0 was correct for me and my '18

So is hardware different then between '18 and later models ? Are they going to release the updates for the earlier ones you think ? Not that there is anything wrong with 3.0, works fine as it is.

18 does not get 3.3, unless you had a very late model that might have gotten a newer APIM.

Not sure I guess we will sit and wait (although I am liking how the 3.4, is looking based on posts in this thread)

Like never ? Overall this seems like an incredibly poor engineering - that they can roll updates out to all the units - and ease of update was supposed to be "the feature" of Sync 3.

I do not know if pre-19 will get an update. The internal memory of the APIM was increased for 2019, so the 3.3 software is designed for that hardware. Ford would need to release a separate train of the 3.3 code for pre-2019’s for those to get any sort of 3.3 update.

The “older” APIMs stay with v3.0 plus any subsequent service releases based off of v3.0. The newer gen APIM units work with v3.2 and later.

Can anyone with the update test if the mute button will now pause streaming audio like every other A2DP device on the planet does?

Ford isn't quite up to Tesla's grasp on modern technology. Thankfully we have Android Auto and CarPlay.

I just wish that damn mute button on the wheel paused digital streams.

I have a APIM from a 2019Mustang (not sure which one, long story) , and I can say that with 3.4 the mute does not pause, only mute

And yes, only late 2018's get 3.3 , Early ones only get 3.0, till ford figures out an easy way to do the conversion. 2016 to 2018's have been able to get to 3.4 with the patch was used to be out there... it's not anymore

Just wanted to post here and say that i updated my '19 to 3.4 (ver. 19274) successfully using the Cyan labs "method 1" install. I did run into a bit of a snag though, as my usb 3.0 flash drive did not want to read properly on the 2nd step. I had to resort to a usb 2.0 drive (which took almost an hour to copy 13gb of files too!) for it to work. After that, it took about 25 minutes to update.

If anyone has any questions, i'd be happy to walk them through it. The skin change alone is worth it.

I have maps 118 now, but still 19101. Where did you get the 3.4 update?

Can you confirm that ver 19274 has working 3D maps? Some people have been reporting this update broke or removed that feature of the NAV system.

I'm on the older version 190178. Never updated my maps but the software version screen says I have map version 118.
