you can't have BOTH threaded. Either the flat-bar (or previously tacked on nut) is threaded or the AL base is threaded. I would be VERY surprised the casting is threaded. Should just be a clearance hole to pass-thru the fastener.
You are correct. I should have clarified that the OP could actually get away with drilling out the threads in the Steeda shocks and bolting them to the bottom of the RLCAs, which have the threaded standoffs in them. The holes in my shocks are actually slotted to allow for more side to side adjustability if needed.

Seems like they are defective lacking the female threaded insert that's usually pressed in the flat bar and some times tacked into place as well.

I would return them. Shouldn't have to jerry rig costly new parts.

The nut was simply remoted and we threaded the steel plate instead. There is nothing wrong with his rear shock.

That is how the Magride shocks mount on my car. I just assumed they all were like that, and I didn't really grasp why there would be a nut, or threads, in the Steeda shock. So the Steeda connects from the top, and there are no threads in the RLCA itself?

Not sure about non Magneride cars, but the MR cars do have threads in the RLCA.

What does "simply remoted" mean?

I guess if it's TUV Germany certified we all know without a question that's it's fine.

Right, my question was to non MR cars. I know mine has the threads in teh RLCA, but there shouldn't be threads in the non MR RLCA if there are threads in the shock.

It’s weird that there are two different RLCAs for these cars, whether MR or non MR.

Correct, non MR cars have a through hole. I had mine on stands this morning and took a close look after seeing this thread. Also, my Steeda shocks are old enough to have the threaded boss, but I can't imagine any issues without it. Perfect opportunity though for some high grade Nyloc nuts for those with OCD equal to mine. :cwl:

Typo to say simply removed I'm pretty sure. The actual steel ends being threaded vs having a nut welded to it seems like an improvement to me. More likely for the weld to break than the threads to strip.
