It's amazing a spring can make such a huge change. Another that's usually referred to as a decorative piece when installed.
Is the hood release, more functional than bling.
I did that as well as the foot rest to match the pedals.

Thanks for the info. I’m going to get this ordered and installed before the car comes out of storage in a few weeks. This forum ends up costing me more and more money every day :giggle:
Reaching for my credit card while reading this thread, I hear ya brother. I hear ya.

I've got this pile of stuff in the basement waiting for a car that hasn't been built yet.

But I do expect it to be like Christmas. Every day I can go downstairs and grab something to use on the car.

Installed mine today in 5 minutes. Clutch feel is a lot better just like my 17 GT which also had one. The stock one is just too light feeling with the much heavier spring.

Just installed one, I give it a "meh". Definitely takes more effort to depress the pedal but the return force is more linear. Kind of like trading one good thing for another good thing. Not sure if I'll keep it in there or not, will drive it for a while and see if I get used to it. If it reduces the number of jerky clutch engagements and makes the ride smoother, it's a win.

It's a different feeling for sure and may not be to everyone's liking. It took me all of 5 minutes to know it was a change for the better. Almost right away my clutch action was smoother.

I'm very happy with the spring and perch on mine. It makes me a lot smoother.

I found a 97 lb spring that should fit and will have it tomorrow to try out. Compromise between the 35 lb Steeda and the 185 lb stock springs. Half the delivered price of the Steeda spring too. McMaster-Carr 9657K573 Compression spring, 2.5" long, 1.687" OD.

Let us know how it goes, like the idea of splitting the differencešŸ‘šŸ‘

I want to buy this and hang it on my wall till I get my Mach 1 on order. :like:

I am glad Steeda came out with this, I remember with my 14 GT the clutch felt really nice to me. Then I drove an S550 GT felt light like a feather and bite point was sudden caused me to stall it couple times like a rookie.

It went well! I like the 97 lb spring. More effort to depress the pedal than stock but not as much as the Steeda spring. But also easier to modulate than the stock spring. Will keep this one installed for a longer trial period. Needed the needle nose vice grips to install it but it was still pretty easy. Here's a pic of the three springs side by side, Steeda then McMaster then stock.

Nice to know there's another option out there.

Steeda's part is not hard to push, that's ridiculous.

all subjective, it’s harder than stock.
Not a hard or soft problem. The stock spring rate is inconsistent throughout its cycle. Bell curve, soft - stronger- soft

The third one is shorter than the other 2, the spring material looks thicker.
