It sure is! Initially, I had ordered the 80MM, but late last week, I learned that BL Fab was having an issue getting a part to complete the build for that turbo. They offered to upgrade me to the 88MM compressor free of charge, so that’s what I did. It has all the same specs (7+7 billet compressor wheel, billet thrust plate, 96MM T6 turbine and 1.32 A/R).Very nice Christmas present to your self haha. What spec did you end up going with ?
Okay, that’s good to know!! I was thinking that was gonna be an issue with the springs and Magneride struts. The added power will more than make up for it. When I first put on the Whipple, I noticed a difference in the balance of the car, obviously, but after a little while, you get very used to it and the new way the car handles becomes very predictable.
No real updates at this point, other than having purchased almost everything on my parts list needed for the install. I’m still waiting on our house to be completed. We have about 4 months left in the build process and it seems like it’s taking forever. Once we get moved in, I’ll spend a few months dialing in the house and setting up my shop area and then I’ll get to work on the install.Any updates? Would like to know how this turned out
understood…maybe give these guys a call, most of what they do is twins, but I’ll bet they have some info to shareI sure hope to have it done by then. If I don’t, it won’t be for lack of trying, lol.
If it was me, unless I have spoken to actual mustang owners running top single mount turbos on the street to know the ups and downs for the single top turbo. Do you really want to be the R&D ginnea pig for some ones unperfected kit? Hard decision for sure. Good LuckI’ve made the decision that I will be adding a single turbo to my 2019 Bullitt. I would like to hear from the turbo folks, what supporting mods are mandatory to allow for a good margin of safety? I would also like to know how much power you guys are making on 93 and E85?
For the single turbo cars, did you guys have to do a wire tuck in the engine bay to keep they clear of the turbo headers. Thanks.
I’m committed now. The only thing I can think of is a good filter for the compressor housing. Many run a Turbo Guard, which I will do at the very least, but I would prefer to run a filter for the majority of street driving. If it was me, unless I have spoken to actual mustang owners running top single mount turbos on the street to know the ups and downs for the single top turbo.
