ok, I called a "guy", lol

Part numbers:

HR3Z-6006-A (w/SVT package) R model?
HR3Z-6006-B (Less special equipment) Non-R?

No idea why there's a distinction. @EF300 is yours an R?

This is the part number that showed up for me.

HR3Z-6006-A
you show
HR3Z-6006-B

Anyone here have detailed parts access and know the difference? I can see from cursory look this B number is a thousand dollars more. I'm almost convinced mine did not have attached flywheel.

Are both new or is one re-manufactured?

Probably just like meat packing. R's get the Grade A engines, non-R's get the grade B engines.

Kidding. Unless it turns out to be true haha.

The difference could be to tack the history of parts / inventory / cars, etc?? .. Similar to a body shop when there is a supplement A / B ?

After more research, it may be related to whether or not it has an oil cooler. I don't remember looking carefully, but perhaps there are fittings for the cooler on one and not the other. That being said, by 2017, all GT350s had the coolers, right? :-\ We'll find out eventually, but probably something silly like that being the difference.

HR3Z 6006 A is GT350R engine tag HA555A from 1/24/17

HR3Z 6006 B is GT350 but that number has recently changed to the new level KR3Z 6006 B. Perhaps @Epiphany has better insight into the differences, if any between R and non R.... but for whatever reason, Ford parts catalog does have different part numbers listed. It could be any number of reasons why.

There is NO reman yet for these. They are NEW

Hack, I understand your point, but I don't believe that control really exists. That we can reasonably rely on that assumption as absolute proof that this cannot fail. Maybe the o-ring supplier changed in between, maybe they didn't get "all" of the testing they needed. Engineering mistakes happen and I'm not upset at that, its part of the job, every decision is not always perfect, even after testing. For me it's more about finding out the root cause, and having Ford address it, for the sake of all of us. Even if they don't address it, we can have the aftermarket solve it when we are out of warranty.

Ford did a good thing with this car, bold, road racing mustang that departs from a lot of what was traditionally expected. We all went out there to front of the line to support this, now we are facing what could potentially be an engineering issue and for the sake of us and the car itself, needs to be fixed. I would hate for this mustang to be just known as the one that "blows motors". We'll see.
There's no mechanical device that has been or will ever be created by man that will never fail. IN MY OPINION. :)

In other words I completely agree with you that no matter how much testing Ford engineers have done we can't rule out that some percentage of our motors will have a problem with this o-ring... or some other part. Seems like leaking valve seals is one of the more common issues to me.

So they submitted the clutch replacement to Ford for approval. Hopefully they will approve it. I asked if they would install an mgw shifter kit for free since everything is going to be out and the service manager said they would . Trouble is I'm going to need it pretty soon and I know that the kits are going to go on sale Black Friday but I would probably have to order it before then. I guess I would lose out on any Black Friday savings but zero cost to install makes up for that.

I have one that was never installed. I could forward you mine if you replace it immediately on a Black Friday special. IIRC, you are close to me. You can pick it up.
