i had stock mufflers with a x pipe.. and it was a improvement but just didnt have enough low end deepness for me ..still didnt sound like a v8 imo
I've read the h-pipe sound is deeper than the x-pipe... have never heard one in the flesh to judge for myself. I do miss the 4" tips on my Magnaflow, though.

I agree and just did this swap yesterday. From inside the car I really can't tell a difference and am kinda disappointed. In the future I will be looking for a cat back that has more volume and will sell the FRPP X-pipe.

The Ford Racing (Borla) Touring cat back is just right for me. A bit louder than stock when putting around but it barks when you get on the gas.

Quietest catback is the Borla Touring.

A resonator delete is a nice uptick in volume, probably 20-30% when you are on the throttle. I didn't like how tinny the stock mufflers sounded with that, though. They're raspy and tinny sounding at higher RPM, not very nice.

Corsa Touring axleback is quite mild but gives you great tone. It'd only be just a little louder than a resonator delete.
I second BmacIL feedback. I had Corsa Touring mufflers only and it was quit at idle and cruse and got loud when you stood on the gas. I have cat delete and an x-pipe with stock muffs and it sounds broken to me. Tinny is a good word. I'm looking at mufflers to replace but not get stupid loud.

You'll have a hard time keeping it reasonable on volume with the cat deletes. Corsa Touring and FRPP Touring are the quietest axlebacks I'm aware of. Possibly the SLP LM2.

The resonator delete H pipe is barely louder than with it in. I could only tell the difference when I revved it up, and even then it is minimally louder.

The main focus of all ARK exhaust systems is to minimize drone as much as possible when cruising.
We design our exhaust systems with Helmholtz chambers, you can see them near the mufflers, to cancel out the low frequencies that cause "drone". But still keep a nice, deep and aggressive tone when you really get on it.

Here's a few videos/pictures of our GRiP catback exhaust system in this thread:

I just noticed you said catback, OP.

In that case, we have the Magnaflow Street CB on our 2015 GT PP car and it is absolutely perfect IMO. It is nice and subtle driving around and part throttle....and it opens up very nicely and sounds very unique at WOT.

Very minimal drone, excellent quality (fit and finish are spot on), and saved a ton of weight as well!

I also run the Magnaflow Comp CB on my other car, and well....it's just downright insanity! But that car is for nothing other than to go very fast. Noise level and comfort is not even a concern. ;)

The inlet/outlet diameter on the 11385 X muffler matches the stock piping, however its length is shorter than the stock resonator, so a small length of pipe will have to be added to fill in the gap. This is something any local exhaust shop could easily handle for about an hour of labor.

How much louder would you expect the 11385 to be compared with the stock resonator?

Resonated X-pipe...could be a nice way to get X-pipe sound with closer-to-resonator volume.

yeah thats my plan.. i love my mufflers i just want to tone the rasp down a bit at higher rpms.. and ive been searching and that seems like a great idea on the 11385.. i have a cjpp x pipe now ill have to get the rez xpipe and compare lengths,

i did axle backs i left alot of extra pipe for the axle back to go over . about 3 inches worth , i might have enough to get them to meet the new x pipe and just use the lrg band clamps like the ford racing x pipe uses
