Rebuilding IRS

Well that escalated quickly... The car was sitting on it's tires this morning in my garage. Decided to start preparing for install of Steeda Diff Bushings and Through Bolt Kit, amongst other upgrades back there. Long story short, I found myself removing the rear assembly to make my life easier. It wasn't too bad actually. Going to go ahead and do some things I wasn't planning to, but it will be good and done for the long run.

Honestly, the hardest parts were the DS bolts (which I just did a couple weeks ago when I installed the Steeda 1pc Alum DS 🙄 and getting the driver's side Halfshaft out (it was in there buddy). But other than that, just bolts and nuts.
Ise the stud bolts kits. That way when you lower again you don't have to remove the OEM bolts. Plus you never put stress on the frame nut plates. Have fun

After I get done with this, I am hoping to not need to lower it ever again 😁 😁 but the stud kits are nice.

I'm starting to feel that way. It all started with some supporting mods for the SC to come, but stemmed to steering and suspension, and now complete IRS rebuild 😂 it will be worth it in the end

I hear you! My current mod list is like an octopus with arms/legs all over the place. I keep trying to put a tourniquet on it, but it won’t take, lol.

OP, consider the AAD camber arms. IMO, they are a way better design, and make repeatable adjustments a breeze, compared to the screw style of most arms on the market.

What stud bolt kit?

OP, consider the AAD camber arms. IMO, they are a way better design, and make repeatable adjustments a breeze, compared to the screw style of most arms on the market.
I love my AAD parts. Top quality, but I had to buy a crap load of tabs to cover any adjustment.

Very nice NGOT8R!! I have Viking shocks sitting in the garage waiting on reassembly as well!
I did some reading on the BMR Camber Lockout Kit, and I understand the appeal to that. I don't necessarily like the fact that you are "locked in" (pun intented) into one of two locations though.
With that, I am looking at the Steeda Rear Camber Adjustment Kit 555-4126. I realize it is difficult to get to the drivers side for adjustment (fuel filler), but I have a very good alignment guy and we work together on the car. That is the way I am leaning anyways.
Still looking into the RCLA bearings. Thanks for the pics and info, that is what makes this forum great.
You can read my write-up of the rear camber adjustment kit in the DIY section. That may help you decide.

With your IRS removed it will be easy to install the brackets. That long ratchet wrench that I bought is the secret to tightening the bolt much easier.

You did the right thing. It's much easier to work on things then trying to work around everything.

I just did, and it was super clear and helpful. Actually, just added that ABN wrench and some wobble extensions to my amazon cart, to make our lives easier when alignment time comes.

I feel the same way. After I got the DS bolts out, and had the whole assembly sitting on the jackstands, I said to myself, "this is the way to do it".
