Looking for some advice on a “safe” build. Currently planning to go ESS G3 next year. I am currently sitting at FBO in my Gen 3. A10 Stainless works headers, cat back exhaust, steeda hardcore CAI, e85, wengerd tune, and 170 thermostat. I emailed with Wengerd on my plans related to his side of things. I’d like to aim for 650-700 wheel range. He recommended G3 over G2 in the event I want to increase power at some point.

Besides the below, I was planning to add the steeda ultimate stop the hop kit. Brakes need changed sometime soon, may do those over winter with the kit.

Anything else recommended I may be overlooking? I have 295/35/19 rears currently, not sure when/if those need upsized. Also driveshaft, half shafts, etc. may go with wengerds fuel system eventually as well. I think the 650-700 wheel is more or less safe before building the trans becomes important. This is a street car. If I go down a drag strip, it would be rare.

ESS G3

120mm pulley

Standard impeller

Satin color

Standard 50mm BOV

ID1050XDS injectors

DW415 fuel pump

18-23 model year

VMP FPB

High precision straight gears

G3 spec intercooler

You don't necessarily need to go bigger but you're going to want some drag radials.

Other than that your list looks fine. I wouldn't get the straight cut gears though. That gets annoying really fast. I would add a real boost/vac gauge while you're at it.

Why the FPB if you're upgrading the pump? I thought the FPB was only if you're not going to upgrade the pump? I could be wrong, but that was my understanding.

I may upgrade that later, so it made sense to me to do it now. It’s the difference of a few hundred dollars.

DEFINITELY get some stronger Half Shafts. You add the Stop the Hop kit (I have it on my car) and 600+ HP and sticky tires, those stock shafts are living on borrowed time!
Are the 350 HS good enough, or is the FP the way to go? Hell of a price difference there, but that’s why I’m planning it all out now.

I personally LOVE the straight cut gears!!! Had them for a year next month and 20,000+ miles and it's still one of my favorite sounds to hear! It's whistle is a sweet symphony! LOL

You can probably get away with one or the other at that power level but the dw pump was designed to run at 18v. For a couple hundred extra bucks that's good insurance you'll always have plenty of fuel.
