Do you know if 2017 GTs are having that problem as well and if the make a brace like your for a convertible?That oil pan will also need to come down before welding, as there will be lots of heat generated when stitching up the crack.
I wish I knew what was causing these GT blocks to crack, especially on a 2022. It seems like it’s caused by the same issue as the GT350, harmonics and vibration. I also wonder if this problem is more prevalent in auto tranny cars than manuals when it comes to the GT?
I got lucky and was able to install the MMR braces (14 months ago) before a crack developed on my 2019.
Here is a link for the brace for a 2011-2017 MMR BRace. I do not see any reference to Convertibles but would think the harmonics would be the same as a coupe. I would contact MMR or Other Mustang Race shops and discuss with them your specific concerns.
See DougS550’s response below. I think it can be hit or miss on the damage, but it’s better to be safe than sorry, as it would be a lot of work to repair a cracked block.
