Mmr has no idea how precise wire edm is. I've been a journeyman tool and die maker for a long time. Wire and carbon edm is VERY precise.
Scott, I think you need to edit your signature and include the # of years experience with tool and die making, I don't think any of us knew that about you! :D

I have been into EDM for many years, it is very precise, so precise that after a few years you know exactly when the bass will drop

One trap not to fall into is over-engineering, for example holding .0001 tolerance when .0005 or even .001 would work just fine. Precision costs ... repeatability\accuracy can be more important than precision.

Oh man, the engine on the shuttle was using a cast OPG too? How deep does this conspiracy go?

I wonder if thats what brought down the spacecraft in area 51.... maybe the aliens were coming here looking for new OPG's? :lol::thumbsup:

FWIW - In engineering, precision is repeatability...it's not at all related to accuracy...However, I agree that over-engineering is not a sound practice.
