Hey all, so for this upcoming season I have roughly $3000 usd to throw at mods on my 2019 GT base manual. Car has extended warranty until this fall but I'm modding it anyway. Car currently has a K&N drop in filter, x-pipe and MBRP muffler delete axle back. I have already purchased Ford Performance 4.09 ring and pinion and install kit that will be installed outside of the $3k I still have to spend. I keep going back and forth between installing a handling package and new rims/tires or doing LTH, CAI and tune.

What are everyone's thoughts here? I'm honestly wanting the extra power but I've never been very impressed with the base GT suspension and how loose it is.

Thanks everyone!

Get the Ford Performance track handling pack suspension kit. Fits perfectly, and dramatically improves handling, without sacrificing ride quality. I had this on my 2017, and it was one of the best upgrades I did. M-FR3A-M8A. Unless you can do an E85 tune, in my opinion a pump gas tune really isn't worth it. Save your money until you can do a power adder.

I agree! I installed the Ford Performance Track Handling Pack (M-FR3A-M8A) on my 2018 GT 6-speed last year and absolutely love it. In fact, I’ve gotten compliments from my HPDE instructors on how well my car handles.

My only question to @Black19GT is: “What are your intentions with this car?”

Meaning, are you targeting closed road courses (HPDE), drag strip, street, all the above?

Mustang is loose in the back like a hotdog in a hallway. The IRS needs A LOT of attention to put power down. Plenty of info on the forums about these upgrades (stop the hop).

As mentioned good tires, and the Ford track suspension kit. At a minimum do the springs, struts, and rear dampers.

Then use whatever is left for power adders.

By the way London is my hometown. :like:

He's in Canada like me. No E85 for miles and miles. Zero smiles. :frown:

Yeah that sucks. Pump gas tunes on GEN 3 cars barely make a difference. By the time you get done installing an intake. headers, and a tune, you might get 30-40 WHP however your 1/2 way to an ESS kit or a Vortech.

Also highly recommend the Steeda IRS Subframe Support braces. MPN: 555-5754

I also agree but, If you are tight on money, you can also get the street setup. I have the street one and it works great aswell

Should have mentioned I’m not planning to track or auto cross the car at all. Take it to the drag strip likely 5-10 times per year and other than that it’s a street car.
Final goal down the road is 1000whp but that’s likely 3-5 years out.

@StangTime were you at the meet in Woodstock last summer when we did the dyno afternoon? If so I woulda met you there :) always up for a meet up…live in north end by Masonville!

I wasn't able to go. Life got in the way. Occasionally a bunch of us gather in Kitchener at the Sports World Drive parking lot for a little pow-wow. But I do make it out to London regularly to visit family in North London too. I'm sure we will cross paths at some point.

There's always the cosmetic approach options for looks if you like. Interior trim, engine dress up, exterior items, etc. All are very reasonable too.

I agree on fatter wheels and tires. I got these bad boys delivered today. Much wider than factory for me :).
