Hey all, so for this upcoming season I have roughly $3000 usd to throw at mods on my 2019 GT base manual. Car has extended warranty until this fall but I'm modding it anyway. Car currently has a K&N drop in filter, x-pipe and MBRP muffler delete axle back. I have already purchased Ford Performance 4.09 ring and pinion and install kit that will be installed outside of the $3k I still have to spend. I keep going back and forth between installing a handling package and new rims/tires or doing LTH, CAI and tune.

What are everyone's thoughts here? I'm honestly wanting the extra power but I've never been very impressed with the base GT suspension and how loose it is.

Thanks everyone!

Dusty
If you are opening up the pumpkin you might want to see if the performance pack Torsen diff would be a good upgrade for you.

When the pumpkin goes back in, it would make sense to do diff bushes / bolts / bolt sleeves / through bolts etc.

Wheels and tires man.... I mean, aside from the improvements you get with wider tires etc; what better way is there to transform the look of the car and make it stand out from the rest of the Mustangs out there.
Switching to some aftermarket wheels and leaving the stocks behind goes such a long way to giving the car a "custom" look.

You didn't say but you will need a tune for the 4.09 gears. I you want to keep any power train warranty you will have to use the FRPP tune.

I'm getting LTH, JLT intake, and a flex tune in April.

I don't really want to work on the engine because of my own time and ignorance, but have done all the rest of my modifications on my own. Excited to get back to working on the suspension. The lowering springs really changed the look.

I was told I don’t need a tune with the 4.09’s. it will throw my speedo out until I fix it via tune when I do LTH, CAI.

@WildHorse. Actually sold over Ten million in iron last year and got a healthy bonus. The rest was invested but thanks for the insights lol

Do some searching on this forum. There are a few who did the swap and got wrench lights till tuned.

I have a 2018 manual and swapped to a 4.09 and I dont recall having any lights or issues.
I didnt need a new tune; but I did use my Rev-x handheld to adjust the ratio and communicate it to the car. Did that with the new tire size when I upgraded wheels/tires as well.

I honestly cant remember if I did it in the parking lot of the shop when I picked up the car or waited till I got home.

Keep in mind there are some differences with the manual and automatic... talking to the computers is a lot simpler with the manual...

Plus the 2019s and up have rev-matching... our 2018s dont... that probably complicates things as well for some people.

Did you mean at Rev8 for the dyno? I was there…. A few of us from the board were there watching @kevinvan6000 dyno his car. Might have been a different time though…

Yea… for the US people, $3000 Canadian is about $2100 or so USD after exchange and fees…

But I do agree! Partway to boost! Much closer to nitrous though!

Shore up the rear end. New rubber all around. That would likely eat up most of it.
