So after ordering the track handling pack in January, waiting till late August for it to become available, i am finally getting my track pack installed tomorrow. I know Steeda and others make high quality suspension enhancements, but since my car has 2 years left on the factory warranty, i wanted to keep everything oem. I am having it installed at the ford dealer, its been there 2 days, just awaiting an alignment. Ill get the car tomorrow.
i have to say, i am super excited to see how it handles, looks lowered and rides.
is there anything to check regarding the installation? Id heard it takes a day or two for things to settle?

i hope there is a noticeable difference in handling. I do not plan to track the car, just opted for the tightest handling options…

I think this will be my first modification also so please keep me updated how you feel the car and your experience.

The difference is that a already have 20" Wheels with 285 / 35 and 305 /35. No track neither.

Thanks in advance.

There is a massive difference overall. You will feel more bumps in the road but your head won't be bobbing up and down as much nor will it feel as boat like (maybe i should retire my username now..)

Before doing the FP track kit, i added the PP bracing, cowl bracing and PP k brace as well. And added the PP control arms.

Car still needs a lot of help in the back due to all the squishy rubber bits, so the stop the hop or equivalent parts apparently work wonders. Ironically you feel this deficiency more after the FP track kit because you will be cornering harder. Adding sticky tires is another step that will again make it feel worse.

Break in like uneven or extra rough ride? Im going on a 4 hour ride this weekend so hopefully that breaks it in well.
Thanks

You going to change out the wheels next? It will be interesting to read about how the convertible frame handles the revised suspension.

I’m waiting on mine to come in. It’s probably like my 8th mod and I’m ready for firmer suspension on my 22 GT premium. Got the PP control arm kit to complement the suspension.

Just picked up my car.. 1400$ for the dealer install, first impression - super tight- i thought the steering was messed up, it’s like driving a little go cart. Took an exit ramp at about. 50 (too much traffic to do more) and it hugged the road like nothing. Can’t wait to drive it home on the backroads, it’s a little stiffer - a lot stiffer but ride is still good. Bumps are fine, it looks nice lower - frikken black paint though, its dirty lol

very happy purchase so far. Ima put some miles on it this weekend, all maine and nh backroards so that will be a good test…

wheels like wider tires? Or summer tires or rims? Im in maine summer tires are sort of out, it was 41 degrees this morning, id rather have a little less traction but be able to drive the car through the winter - not storms, but colder weather…

Yeah i would recommend anyone installing this go ahead and install your steeda stop the hop kit (or equivalent) along with it. Holy moly is the rear stable now. I shoulda done this at the same time. Had the toe link bearing installed as well and the mechanic said that it was a bitch.

Slight increase in NVH-cabin noise on the freeway is a bit more "resonant" if that makes sense but it's fairly subtle, these cars are so well insulated from the factory that it's noticeable.

So after ordering the track handling pac ...
great choice.

if I wanted to change the suspension on my 2017 GT PP i'd either bought the pack (easy but expensive) or assembled gt350 suspension myself (difficult, not sure if cheap).

Realistically I think I'll probably just upgrade shocks. I've got squared wheel setup already.

Are there any FP equivalents to the stop the hop?

Looks like the FP toe link bearing part is: M-5A460-M
Which i have to admit, i have no idea what that even is? Lol

so far i really like the handling pack, no track or anything for me, but it feels so much ā€˜firmer’

No, not really. The toe link bearing helps, but hard for me to say because I did the stop the hop and toe link bearing at the same time.. but that kind of squishy feel when you nail the gas is gone now, and on hard cornering the rear feels completely connected to the front, almost feels as good as my old FR-S did.. except that car weighed 1000 lbs less.
