After reading and research on the forums, I’m left feeling that the stock lug nuts on my car are a 2 piece design and need to be replaced with something of higher quality. I’m not sure if this applies more to someone who is taking their tires off frequently or not. Tire rotations/replacements and brakes would be about the only reasons I’d be on the lug nuts (other than a flat). I’d appreciate any advice

Gorilla brand lugs seem to be popular with 350 owners. Our torque spec is 150 ft/lbs so more sturdy lug nuts aren’t a bad investment. Have no idea if that torque spec also applies to other trim levels. There are also a few running gorgeous titanium lugs that probably are crazy expensive.

+1 for gorilla lug nuts. I got their locking set then replaced the locking ones with Advanced Wheel Locks. I torque to 135 ft/lbs (uh oh this thread's going to get crazy now).

Gorilla for me. 150 foot pounds as Ford specifies :) And yes, solid lugs are almost always one of the first mods I do, did on both my Mustangs, as I learned the hard way on my F150 what happens if you don't

AFAIK all ford's lug nuts are two piece.
A very big part of how they last will depend on the climate you live in. Rust belt cars will have them swell and fail far more often than warmer dryer climates.
Living in the south I've had mixed results with the stock lug nuts. My '12 Edge has been swapped for solid lug nuts, just inexpensive chrome ones. My '14 Fusion has still got stock lugs, mostly because I have a lot of spares from the Edge and Mustang. I swapped the ones on the Mustang for esthetic reasons, I wanted black to match the wheels. I used Gorilla and will post a picture. The Gorilla's have been on about 4 years with no issues at all with the finish or the high lug torque.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I’ve seen Gorilla mentioned often. Is there a particular size for my application or should I speak with someone at Gorilla to determine what I would need?

I ordered mine from CJ Pony parts. Put in my model and they sent me the right ones.

Change em. Gorilla. Expensive but worth every penny.

I swapped out stock for black chrome Go-rillas (stock PP1 wheels). In addition to swelling of the stock ones in certain climates, overzealous tire store monkeys will pile drive them on with the impact gun, who doesn't love to hear them things when torqueing a lug nut stud to yield?

Hi Trolly1 and everyone else! This feedback is very helpful, thank you all. My GT convertible, on the rear wheels has 7 Faux chrome covered nuts and three real ones 🤔 I don't know how that happened. But the fake chrome nuts is not one of Ford's better ideas! I will soon be ordering real ones from one of the Mustang vendors, like American Muscle or CJ's
A very worthy investment.

Are Gorilla lug nuts impact wrench safe? I just put my jacking rails on and I was planning to get a mid-torque impact wrench to aid with a tire rotation and getting the lug nuts swapped out.
