Hi Jeremy, this is all very good advice from our Mustang friends. My car came with a mix of faux chrome lug nuts and real ones; whoever came up with this lame setup ought to be.... well you know, send back to school.
Get rid of those faux lugnuts asap; I had a really hard time getting mine off...
Yikes, that's terrible.
Very good advice Tom
I think if you have Hagerty Insurance, as I do, which is a fantastic deal by the way, you have Roadside Assistance with the plus package
Very much worth it.
Hi Lorne, that is all very good advice. IMHO a full size spare is the best way to go. Just make sure it is in good condition and properly aired up. A jack and the appropriate tools also.
I got a full size spare off Craigslist that was never used for a good deal from a guy who sold his Mustang. A...
Good advice JohnnyBee
A couple of other considerations you want to consider: Absolutely make sure the recalls have been done, or can be scheduled to be done
Especially the trunk wiring harness in certain older models
Mine was so bad I'm amazed anything was working back there at all...
Welcome back to the corral ThunderSteel
Bought my 2017 Premium Vert with PP1 and manual transmission in 2023; one owner, 39K.
Absolutely love it, car is in excellent condition, upgraded rear subframe and differential bushings, removed completely unnecessary 'sound tube'.
Bought a real full size...
Welcome to a great family of Mustang owners! Bought my 2017 GT Premium PP1 6M with 39K, one owner, very good condition
The water pump with the plastic impeller failed at about 41K replaced with Ford Performance pump from AM, WAY better deal than Ford dealer, by more than 200$!
Previously...
Hello Soloshot
I did this upgrade on my 2017 Vert
The subframe bushings are easy, easily done with jackstands
But I highly recommend doing the differential bushings on a lift, I am so glad to have a few friends with lifts
Makes it MUCH easier as the subframe has to be lowered quite a bit
And the...

Thanks guys going to shelve the idea for now
Regular maintenance and mods I'm going to do myself
With only 42k, and I don't beat on it, I'm hoping no serious problems
The electronics is what I worry about the most
Although I did get Forescan and taught myself how to make a new key (fob), and...
Thanks Crew4991 and everyone
On a positive note, a good friend and fellow enthusiast gifted me a clay barring, polish, and ceramic coat of my car for my birthday
OMG! I was amazed and floored by the results
When we were done, the car looked like it had just come off the showroom floor
I...
Thanks Cerbomark , and thanks to everyone for your response
This is a lesson to me in caveat emptor
I'm usually a very trusting person, which leaves me open to naivete
Hello Mustang friends,
I'm writing this to share a hard lesson learned. When I bought my 2017 Mustang GT two years ago, I'd never owned such an expensive and complex car. So I thought it would be good to have repair insurance. As we know, major repairs for these cars can get very expensive, and...
Pressure test revealed leaking water pump gasket
Going to look closely at timing cover seal also
Thank you all for your feedback and responses
Much appreciated
I started a new thread on this cuz I got lost for awhile, yikes
Hello Mustang friends Please excuse my chat forum ineptitude, I' suddenly find myself an old guy with little idea how a lot of this works; but anyway here goes: I promised everyone I discussed a newly discovered puddle of antifreeze on the garage floor with;
I hope this message finds you
A...
Hi Alex, sounds like you are taking very good care of your car
IMO if you are using full synthetic oil, that might be a bit overkill, but that's ok, engines like fresh oil
If you had a recall on the trunk wiring harness (leading to Sync 8 issues) , absolutely should do
Hi Diegosuave Thanks for your quick response!
Yay!!!
My shop of choice, the fantastic Joe's Garage here in Eugene is going to pressure test the system for me next Tuesday, along with replacing the ac condenser, whose fins have shredded themselves and are falling off! Got a new condenser coming...
