As the title states, I'm looking to get 500-600 whp out of my 2021 GT PP. Not looking for much more. I know I could go with a Whipple or Roush and get a lot more than that but that's not what I'm looking for. Any recommendations? I'm budget constrained so don't really want to spend 10k+ on a kit. Would ESS be the way to go? Maybe a G2 w/ 125mm pulley or would I have to go with a G3? I don't track the car and don't really care what my 1/4 mile times are. Just want some more oomph.

Happy Thanksgiving!

That’s a tough question…A good e85 tune, longtubes and a Pmas could get you close to 500rwhp. A used g2 Ess kit with a 125 pulley will bump you to 600rwhp easily. I’m in the same boat as you….have the$$ just don’t really use my car that much so I don’t have the ambition to dole out the $$ for an Ess. Plus cats become an issue with boost.

I think 500whp with those mods is ambitious by a good margin.

G2 with 125mm pulley is an easy button solution.

I would say ESS G3 with the largest pulley you can get would get you there easily, probably about 75 more than 600 :). And do it with ease... Thats my plan some day when I can do it...

I don’t think 675 to the wheels on 93 and a 125mm pulley is happening. Low to mid 600s depending on the dyno 👍.

You probably right. Friend has one, 120 MM pulley I think. He pulled in the 690 range... 125 pulley would probably be mid 600... But a number is just a number, I probably will never be on a dyno unless it is needed to properly tune for safety reasons...

That sounds more than enough for me. If I'm making between 500 and 600 to the wheels I'm good to go.

When did the Procharger kits fall out of favor? I have the HO kit on one of my Mustangs and it was an easy install. Drivability is great and the power after 3500 RPM is a blast.

Thanks for bringing that up. Totally forgot about procharger. I'll check it out.

Still an awesome and popular option. ESS became extremely popular over the last few years but the pro-charger and vortec options are still just as viable.

looks like the ESS kit is a couple of thousand less than the ProCharger HO Kit.

I believe every ess kit is a “tuner” kit so you have to add aftermarket tuning and a device to the cost. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Cheapest procharger is what $7400?
Cheapest Roush is $7000 currently.
Cheapest Whipple is $7900.

Yes, I think you're correct. So does the procharger not require aftermarket tuning?
