It sounds like he will be, as post #69 he says he’ll definitely be launching from a dig several times during his weekend drives.
You're right. Yes, I intend to accelerate WOT from a dig, so maybe the ESS G2 with 125mm pulley is the way to go for me. I'll have to get used to the power but like I said in the beginning, not interested on making more than 600 whp. Ideally somewhere in between 500 and 600.

Edit: what I said was that I wasn't going to track the car and don't care what my 1/4 miles times are. I didn't say I wasn't going to have some fun once I get it installed.... :like:

If you’re going to be hammering it from a dig with sticky tires, a Whipple or PD blower is going to increase the likelihood of snapping axles greatly due to the low end torque. A centrifugal supercharger still increases the risk but at a lower threshold as they put out less torque. Something to consider during your build.

One of the reasons I went with a centrifugal setup is that I believe it’s easier on the clutch, axles, driveline, etc. But when you go boost you pay to play.

I get what you’re saying. It would be nearly impossible to make more power and not to want to test it out and see what it can do.

It’s gonna be a lot of fun, but please do yourself a favor and don’t overlook the weak links that should be addressed with the addition of the extra power.

^^^^The best advice going.

All too often, increasing power is looked at as an addition of selected parts and not what it means to enhance overall systems. Don’t go into the pursuit of more power with an approach to wait for a known weak link to break and then replace it.

Typically, when something breaks, there’s a likelihood of collateral damage and the cost is greater than it would’ve been had the system been enhanced all at once.

If your launching on the street your axles should be OK. I've never been to the track but launch the shit out of my car on the street all the time. 100k on the stock axles and driveshaft sitting about 700whp. I doubt they'd hold up long at the track though.
