There's definitely been some evolution. Every step of the way has looked damn good.
I agree. I was thinking of the DB7 and all of its successors, which stylistically haven't changed a bit. And I'm glad they haven't, as they all look stunning.
But you're right; up until the seventies they did look a bit different.

I own one of the junkier Porsches - an '86 944 NA. I like it enough that I'm constantly fantasizing about an LS swap. It's a tiny car. I'm 6'4" and I have a wide build. I sit on top of the bolsters in the Mustang seats and they are somewhat uncomfortable for me because they are too narrow. The ergonomics in that tiny Porsche are awesome. I have a lot of head room and the steering wheel and pedals are positioned very well.

The car has 50/50 weight distribution and weighs about 3,000 lbs. It feels like a little go-kart. The chassis is much stiffer than the 2004 Z06 I used to own. I bought the Z06 because of the Porsche. The one thing I hate about the Porsche is it doesn't have enough power. I wanted a light, low car with a transaxle and V8. But I didn't fit well enough in the Z06. I didn't fit at all with a helmet. So the Z06 is gone but I still have the Porsche and I still want to do that engine swap.

The newer Porsches I think are a little too good to be fun on the street. Too much grip and the power comes at high RPM. And I think they are too expensive for what you get. I always try to get the most I can out of my money.
I mean.....GOTT DAAYYYYUM!!!!

MY 944 MAKE SURE ALL YA'LL KIDS DON'T GROW!!!

I lust after a 944. Please post more pics, including the interior.

Reality intruded this morning when the service manager's hair started moving when he was asked to sign off on the price drop on the annual change, after the tech used 10 bottles of oil from the parts department when they didn't have a bulk drum of the right oil. Much harumphing. We agreed on a $30 discount off the price to do it (I like these guys too much for other reasons to be an asshole about it), but I'm going to enjoy squeezing the salesman's shoes later today regarding overselling things.
HA HAAAAAAAA
That's awesome.
Just make sure you check your paperwork AFTER every oil change. I bet you they will try using oil that isn't synthetic every now and then because we all know how much dealerships hate losing money. Your salesman told you it doesn't matter what oil is being used according to him after being questioned about it, so you're good top go. I'd throw the salesman under the bus in a second if they try making me pay more than 16 bucks for the synthetic oil.
I would check my paperwork AFTER every oil change.

Yeah the rear seat is a package shelf. Even more so than the Mustang. But it has plenty of room for 2.

You Porsche guys are nuts!! Are Porsches really that great? I've never ridden / driven one, and to be honest, never been that big a fan of the looks.
Yes.

They're also not that difficult to change oil in, even the Cayman.

Ok, someone with a Porsche (is it Porshhh or Portia?) in the KC area come give me a ride. I need to be convinced of the hype. Looks are subjective, so I guess I could get used to the styling. But for that kind of coin, I really don't want to have to take it to the dealer for everything. But then again, if I could afford a Porsche, I wouldn't be worried about the cost of an oil change.

Be glad you aren't paying for a Porsche oil change and the process that usually goes with it.
I can agree with this 100%
Details pleadr. Don't leave us non-Porsche people hanging
Panamera e-hybrid oil change was $399. It was just a regular ol Audi v6 with a supercharger on it Like 8 quarts of oil and a $25 filter, thats on top of the engine. I did it myself. One of the eisiest oil changes to do.

It does take a certain type.
Looking at getting into a GT3 soon.

Just go to the local dealer, pick a car and do a test drive. I've driven a few 911s since I don't really fit in a Cayman. Not brand new ones; I'm not going to spend over $100k on a car. But once they are a certain age, they get down into a Mustang owner's price range. Riding isn't the same as driving.

I do have eyes. I can see exactly what I'm "missing". It looks like a stepped on Beetle, and they put the engine in the wrong place.

There's definitely been some evolution. Every step of the way has looked damn good.

Seriously guys, now we are beating up on Porsche's. I'm sorry but if I had an extra $200k laying around I'd buy on of these in a heartbeat. Right after I bought my Aston Martin :giggle:

The guy that said they still look like a squashed bug don't think so.

That's a good looking beetle.

I don't think Porsches are like squashed beetles, but when I hear the solid clunk of a Porsche door closing I often am reminded of the '76 Super Beetle I learned to drive on. Loved that car.

The Porsche door close sound is solid not like a VW Beetle
