My cover and tube are on the shelf, what about the tower brace? I am a straight line guy.

I have no real evidence but on all my cars I tend to believe the large mass of black cosmetic plastic isn’t good for cooling.
Imo it's not doing anything either way. The cylinder heads aren't fully covered and it's 9 million degrees in the engine bay no matter what šŸ˜‚ the stock hood vents are really only for pressure relief at speed and barely do anything.

I kinda wondered if the engine cover was there to protect the hood paint.

I honestly couldn’t tell you! I’ve never done any real research on it.

I have the GT350 mani which prevents me from using a cover at all. It’s a garage ornament currently.

Took mine off when I found a mouse nest underneath of it.

I imagine that cover makes a fairly inviting spot for them to set up shop.

But damn, it's ugly without it.

I'm glad mine did not come with one.

Agreed, it’s really just cosmetic. The Bullitt, Mach and Shelby’s don’t come with one from factory. If it truly was functional (be it heat or hood protection), they’d all come with some kind of cover.

I've got a '21 GT with the HUGE engine cover, is it needed?
No, it's there to reduce the noise from the injectors and DI pump.

The engine cover is required or else nothing is covering the engine. :)

I don’t even know if it does that job well. Maybe a little bit…
