  1. Steeda Stop-the-hop starter kit review

@dasrider - what shocks/struts/springs did you go with?
  2. Steeda Stop-the-hop starter kit review

Had it installed today. It's awesome. Immediately noticed the difference. Better/more responsive steering and a much more planted and in-control feeling through more aggressive turns. Quick transitions no longer are met with that rubber band, latent effect where the rear end shifts weight a...
  3. Rattle noise on throttle lift

I've got a 2023 GT automatic with the active exhaust. I noticed the other day that when I lift the throttle either when i'm driving or just blipping the throttle, I get this ticking/rattle noise as the RPMs come back down. Could it be the active exhaust flap(s)? Seems like it is coming from...
  4. Odd single metallic “knock” occasionally on startup

Mine rarely occurs anymore. But it’s completely random. It’s done it when it’s cold outside, hot outside, cold start after sitting overnight; warm re-start. Car runs great.
  5. Battery minder/charger question

Hooked up correctly = according to my vehicle’s owners manual authored by the manufacture of said vehicle.
  6. Battery minder/charger question

I’ll add that I did end up using a battery tender hooked up the correct way and it worked great. No issues. I would also emphasize to disconnect the battery before installing the charger harness. Too easy to possibly drop something and cause a short or damage across exposed electrical connections.
  7. Battery minder/charger question

Great info-thanks for sharing. I used to work on my cars myself all the time including on my 2001 GT but things have continued to become more complex. Appreciate all this info. Thx
  8. Battery minder/charger question

Just reviewed my Owners manual and found the following: “After battery replacement, or in some cases after charging the battery with an external charger, the battery management system requires eight hours of vehicle sleep time to relearn the battery state of charge. During this time, your...
  9. Battery minder/charger question

I did not realize a lead acid battery would even have a BMS. I’ve got a lithium battery for my bass boat and it has one built into the battery itself. Are you referring to a BMS on the vehicle itself? I’m confused because the Battery Tender support staff never mentioned doing this and he knew...
  10. Battery minder/charger question

I ended up contacting Battery Tender’s support line. They were very helpful. The 3- and 4-amp versions definitely have the quick connector per the support team member. I ordered the 4 amp version just now on Amazon.
  11. Battery minder/charger question

I need to buy a battery minder/charger for my Mustang GT. Stupid cold weather and salt/snow is not allowing me to drive it as much as I’d like so my battery is getting weak in between starts. I would like a battery minder/charger that comes with a quick-connect/disconnect set of O-ring...
  12. Wheel hop, IRS subframe movement under acceleration, engineering reason?

that’s great to know-thanks for sharing. It seems like just about everyone that buys these braces notices a large improvement of rear suspension compliance. Hoping for the same experience.
  13. Wheel hop, IRS subframe movement under acceleration, engineering reason?

Great thread. “Oscillation” is a good way to describe the rear suspension compliance. The phrase “wont take a set” also is accurate. the one performance related thing I do not like about my Mustang is the rear suspension compliance. There are two driving scenarios that give me a serious “oh...
  14. Mach 1 1p Speed Auto Transmission whine

Mine whines under the same situations. Low speed and idle. It seems to have quieted down a bit in the 5000 miles I’ve driven the car since buying it a year ago. Everything I’ve read about this indicates that this is a normal sound coming from the 10R80 and I’ve found people mention the whine...
  15. Odd single metallic “knock” occasionally on startup

The procedure outlined in @geep81 ’s post did not produce the sound. It’s a rare occurrence and sounds like a rattling piston for like two knocks. Almost like the motor isn’t igniting immediately but once it does all is fine. Zero issues with the car and no abnormal oil usage. In fact, the car...
  16. Mechanic installed lowering springs, messed up my wheel bearings, is this a normal problem?

I’m going with noise from the new rotor (and pads?) coupled with some sort of abnormal movement of the wheel (like someone cited occurring from improperly torqued lug nuts)
  17. Odd single metallic “knock” occasionally on startup

@GTP snd @thunderstrike - do you guys have active exhaust?
  18. Is the engine cover needed?

I kinda wondered if the engine cover was there to protect the hood paint.
