Is Performance Package worth it?

If I’d only use a Mustang for DD (daily driving) and commutes, should I get:

I went non pp, added the engine brace fender strut thing, the car base + that together I really love my car man. I think you’d enjoy it too.

If you drive the base and enjoy it, get it and throw the brace on, tighten up a little in turns and that’s more than you’d ever do for a regular driver on road

Buy a set of take offs for 200-300 bucks and bam. You’re 400 total in and you get better ride quality for the road trips

Andddd to spice things up, if I bought take offs, I’d have them powder coated before I put them on, add another little bit for the powder and rebuild kit that I read, have a slick set of brakes, I’d do the rears too.

Or paint them with high quality high temp paints while off the car, way easier than on.

And drive the base suspension over some bumps and potholes before you decide it's too soft. LOL

This is what I'm doing. Just bought some 20" take offs to see how different she handles with proper low-profile tires. I might do the Steeda upper and lower braces, and their anti-roll bar bushings next IF the new wheels and tires don't get her handling where I want. BUT the spring rates are plenty for my bumpy commute.

I went non PP because I won't be in competitive track events and only non sanctioned track events so being the fastest is not an issue most of my time will be DD. I went with 3.55 final drive gears, and 20" wheels on my 401a GT Premium. Would have liked the magneride but not really worth it for my use

Does any one know what the "unique tuning" is for chassis, abs, epas, and stability control???

Stiffer = harsher ride for bumps and potholes.
Bane of my existence. I do 70 miles a day in my 16/PP. I bent then cracked the same wheel last year. It feels fine on a smooth road and fine on the interstate, but it's like riding a skateboard when I hit a pothole.

OP....I love the look and the brakes. I don't race it, and I probably haven't pushed it hard enough in the corners to get it to the point that a base GT would have failed. I'd love to hit a track with it someday, but so far that day hasn't come. 600 completely expendable (vs grown up expenditures or my other hobbies) dollars and the willingness to make a 4 hour drive haven't happened at the same time yet.

I would probably still get the PP if I was doing it over. Those brakes have saved my bacon a few times.

Think you’d of considered a non pp and just bought take off gt brakes for a few hundred?

I have the PP GT. Even so, I had come up with other plans when I decided on the performance package. Those plans just haven't materialized. I think I would find it a lot more useful if I'd go take the performance driving school because as it stands, I don't feel like I know well enough what the car is capable of to push it too hard on a public road. I don't want to compromise my or anyone else's safety. I have plenty of fun though. No rAgrets.

I did koni adj shocks. Ford racing springs, Eibach Sway bars, Brembo front brakes and a new PP1 wheel set. Also installed the PP1 gauges Total was a little over $2k so far. Next is the PP1 radiator. View attachment 357308

Is the Ecoboost Performance Package worth it if I’m just using the car for everyday usage and occasional road trips (no tracking)?
I got the PP1 but ultimately could have lived without it. Upgraded radiator isn’t exactly a beast, and will eventually be replaced with a high quality after market option. Wheels were a pain to keep clean and pretty blah visually. Already replaced. You may or may not notice a difference in handling. The brakes though... Best braking I’ve ever experienced in a Mustang.

I live close to the ocean, but still on a hot area that’s high above sea level near LA. I love driving along the CA 101 along the ocean towards San Francisco or the opposite way towards LA and San Diego. I want to enjoy my drive on the freeway while also making daily work commutes enjoyable.
You never take your car up the Angeles Crest Hwy???!!!

Another downside to the PP is when you go to get some winter tires, you will have to get 19's because 18" rims will not fit over the brakes. And a set of 19" wheels and tires is more expensive than 18" and there are fewer options.

On a Ecoboost, the PP gets the base GT brakes. So 18 still fits.

Only worth it if you don’t see yourself modifying your car.
