I didn't order the PP on my '16 because I a) don't really care for the wheels and b) didn't care for the 3.73's either. Funny thing was the salesman called me back later in the day and told me I could upgrade to 3.73's for no extra charge but still not get the whole performance pack.

The tower brace, radiator, sway bars, springs and shocks are all available over the counter through Ford anyway. Why pay for things I don't want, when the parts I do want are available over the counter and I could put together cheaper than simply buying the whole package. In my case I didn't care for the wheels and gears, but over time I can save up and upgrade the handling of the car.

Same thing if I ever want to add the oil pressure/vacuum gauges. The wiring is there. All ECM's/BCM's are programmed to run them. I could add them in later if I really wanted.
Exactly. Which is why I built my GT from scratch when I found out you could buy all the parts separately. Unfortunately, I can't get it registered now because it doesn't have a VIN.

Buying all parts separately will cost more of course though. Also even if you don't like stock wheels you can sell pp wheels for probably 1200 with tires. Other base and stock wheels on this car you can't give away they are so ugly.

Same for suspension parts. No one will buy any base suspension stuff but all pp parts are easy to sell.

Brakes and rear end alone are worth it to me.

I struggled with the same thing, but went for the PP. No regrets at all. I don't have the money for lots of mods, so I am completely happy with the PP car. Love the suspension. The non-PP was way too soft for me. I also like the extra gauges in the PP car. My only real complaint is the bad wheel hop - wish Ford would have addressed it.

cjj237 ... what part of town do you live in?... I'm north of Intercontinental airport on 59 ...

I have the PP on mine and am very happy with it. (hard pulls to 80 just barely require the 3rd gear ;) )

When I drove the 3.31 car, I felt I needed to downshift it more. My PP car has more power in any gear. Tradeoff is it revs higher on the highway, of course. But using 5th gear in the city is nice too.

Plus, I love the wheels, brakes, suspension (a lot less floaty) etc.
The MT82 is alright, sometimes it's hard for me to get a smooth 1 to 2 shift or a smooth 2 to 3 without the driveline clunking loudly or feeling like it's shifting around, though.

Wowwww. Seems I missed some action here today. And it was my day off. Darn. :headbonk:

I don't know if PP is right for you, but I agree that it is a good deal $ if you want all the components at some point. Also the gauges look fun.

Me, I had to have automatic. I drove MT for more than 30 years and am tired.
Would have been nice if I could have that and PP, but, alas, AT prevails.
Plus I dislike black wheels but love the stock 20s. So there's that. (And if someone really is 'giving them away' because they are 'ugly', please PM me their contact info as I have scratched a couple of mine )

I just added Brembos later. That was my fave part of the PP package, anyway. :)

Some of us ..... gasp..... are leaving their cars stock because they are daily drivers and we don't feel the need to spend extra thousands on them. That's why I got a base PP car, it is the best bang for the buck from the factory.

I don't remember in the other threads, if a guys mind set was drag racing only (8miles to work and I work next door to the track, so I will be street driving) so as a drag racer I think the PP is not for me?
Heavier brakes, heavier sway bars, ect.... I would like the larger radiator and the differential, but that's it.

Actually you don't want the torsen for drag racing. If drag racing or running stop light to stop light is your thing, the PP won't be worth it, except for perhaps the axle ratio. An auto 3.55 car is a beast for drag (similar overall ratios to a manual 3.73). Manual 3.55 would still be great if you insist on shifting. The PP is for those who favor handling over straight line performance.

Yeah Bmac is spot on about the Torsen. You can add the larger radiator later. Check Don Wood Ford Racing or Autonation white bear for great prices on it.

something you don't need. car comes with free towing lol
By the time "free towing" gets to where I'm at, I could have already been gone if I got out and swapped the full-size spare on. Worst case, I might be just setting the car down off the jack and only have re-packing the trunk left. And I'll be picking my trip up from where it paused, not where the towing might take me.

Maybe it's the difference between a DIY mentality and an overly-dependent "I will be served" outlook.
