I'm Mike. New here and new to the American muscle. Recently sold my Maserati and decided it was time to grow up and get myself an '18 GT 6s. 4 days owned and I love it.

Plans:
Full exhaust
Cold Air
Tune
Lowered

Next year, I might venture into forced induction; preferably supercharger (Whipple or Roush).

I have to get the striping and PPF redone. Previous owner had the PPF done to half of the front and the side panels, but it was not done that great. Also, part of the striping in the front is tearing up, so I am having all of that removed and redone. I just don't know if I want to do black stripes or destripe it completely.

I attached a few photos.

What’s up fellas,

I’m Seth, I bought my 18 GT PP about a month and half ago, replacing my 3rd gen Tacoma.

It was 100% stock when I got it, so far I have added RTR grills, hood vents, tint (only include that because it’s crazy expensive now lol), hood struts, JL catch can, mishimoto coolant res, Roush intake and Steeda X pipe. I’ve been looking at some of the cookie cutter tunes as a place holder until I throw boost at it.

Hey, everyone -

Just picked up this new-to-me 2021:
  • GT Premium
  • 10R80
  • 401a
  • Magneride
  • PP1
  • Enhanced Security (didn’t really care about this one)
  • Active Exhaust
  • B&O
MSRP was $55,780k. I picked it up for $30,xxx > $34,400 OTD.

Has 61k miles but it’s a one-owner, no accident car with perfect maintenance at every interval + no unforeseen dealer visits.

There were some non-premium and non-PP1 cars around me with more owners and/or accidents asking for a similar price. The miles don’t worry me based on the maintenance history and what I’ve read about the Coyote.

I was looking for a 10R80 with PP1, and I’m thrilled to have been able to find this car with even more than my criteria at a great price IMO.

My Questions:

I’ve done (and am doing) my own research, but I’ll take quick advice as well on “prep”.

  • Fluid changes
    • Higher viscosity oil for the coyote to prevent oil consumption? Replace trans fluid to be safe and know that it’s topped? Thicker diff fluid needed if not circuit tracking immediately?
  • Trans manual/paddle downshifts are a little rough 4>3 and 3>2 (need to experiment more).
    • Will swapping out the trans fluid help? Would you recommend having the trans learning stuff reset as a new owner? I have this trans in my truck (bought new), so I’m not completely unfamiliar with it, but the Mustang 10R80 not as smooth on the paddle downshifts as the ZF8 was in the Supra.
  • Prior owner did have some cosmetic mods consisting mostly of interior stick on carbon fiber that I’d like to remove. I have some ideas of what to use, but if anyone has had to specifically remove these in a Mustang and has non-destructive solvents or removal tips they’d like to recommend, I’ll take it.
I’m coming out of a tuned and tracked Supra I sold a few months ago.

Prior platforms include:
  • 2020 Supra B58/ZF8
  • 2017 GTI E888/DSG
  • 2006 350Z VQ35/6MT (drifting only)
  • 2007 GTI 2.0T FSI/6MT
  • 1997 Eclipse 4G63/Auto
Current family hauler is a 2023 F-150 Tremor 402a.

New Mustang guy here. Wanted one since I was 16 and finally at 52 got one. GT PP1. I absolutely love it. Sold my other sports car and happy I ended up with the one I wanted. I was looking for a car that had the valved exhaust, and a few other things. But kinda hit the jackpot on this one. It was at the ford dealership up the road from my house with only 5200 miles. Quick question, I believe it’s stock suspension but how can I tell for sure it’s not lowered? Mike

Welcome to the forum! Based on these pics I'd say you're not lowered.

However, post up in the General or the Suspension, Brakes & Chassis forums and someone there can answer your question. Most likely there's a telltale label or something on the springs, but I'm not well versed on what to look for specifically.

Greetings from central Virginia.

  • I just bought a 2023 Mustang GT, Dark Matter Grey. I expect it to arrive in a week or two. I am hoping I can keep this as long as I kept my Tiburon -- or longer! :)
My 2023 GT/CS. I intend to have the stripes removed.

(I am cross posting this with the thread: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/50-years-le-or-bullitt.204131/ , since some folks have been following that and helpfully giving me advise on my purchase decision.)

I recently sold my 2011 GT with the plan to buy a newer Mustang. I knew if I got an S550, the version I really wanted was either a 2015 50 Years Limited Edition or a 2019-20 Bullitt. After much deliberation, I bought a 50 Years! I love the Bullitt and there's lots of good reasons to choose it. I went with the 50 Years mainly for two reasons:

-The 50 Year package is more my personal style. I really have a car-crush on it.
-Condition for price. If I'm willing to get a 4 year older car without the added features of the Bullitt, I could get a much higher quality vehicle that fits comfortably in my budget. I would have had to spend at least 6k and probably closer to 10k more for a Bullitt with similar miles and condition.

I ended up with a Wimbledon White manual 50 Years with 16k miles. The car is in fantastic condition for its age. Almost spotless. Stock condition except for a Borla S-Type catback. I decided I would get the car, even though I really wanted a stock exhaust, as the Borla is probably sellable. In any case, I already bought a stock system from a 2017 GT with <1000 miles for quite a cheap price last week while waiting for the car to be shipped from Dallas. Let the [reverse] mods begin!

I'd attach photos, but I can't get that to work. I click on "Attach Files" and pick a photo, but it never attaches. When I hit Post, it says "Still waiting for files to attach" but they never do. Do you have to have a premium membership or something to do this?
EDIT: I opened forum in a different browser and it worked!

It turns out that it's a GT Premium, but not a California Special! Fortunately, it was an easy fix. 😎 I am now debating whether to get a silver horse... but I don't think I will.

I guess these will be going on Ebay. 😀

Hi everyone. I was a Foxbody guy back in late 80's and on, with a few supercharged Mustangs over the years. I sold my last one around 2008 so took a hiatus for a while.

I just picked up a 2020 PPI (previous owner put PP2 wheels on it, which I love) 10-speed.

The only mods so far are a J&L oil separator, Roush hood strut kit, JLT cold air and a Palm Beach Dyno E85 tune, but I'm pretty blown away by the difference in acceleration (and wheelspin). LOVE the car, such a difference from the Foxbody, and they handle pretty amazing.

Near term upgrades planned are long tubes and the Steeda bushing kit for the rear, and eventually a supercharger.

Here's a pic, the only one I have on my work computer.

Nice looking ride! Is the black in front of the headlights stock or mod? Pretty sharp look.

Thank you!

I believe the previous owner did it, along with the vents on the hood. I like it as well.

Thank you as well!

Hello All,
Monty here from Louisiana. I picked up this Roush Stage 3 on Thursday from Texas Hot Rides near Dallas. It’s been a few years, (2007) to be exact, since I’ve driven a mustang. I had a 2007 GT with Ford Performance Cams and a few other goodies. This one is a 2019 with 12800 miles. The only mod that I’m aware of is the GT500 exhaust.
