Hey guys, anyone else experience this? 2019 GT350 12k miles. Acceleration in sport and track mode puts the car into limp mode above 3k RPM. Turn off the car and put it on comfort mode and the car will accelerate up to 8k and drive for quite a while but eventually will go into limp mode.

There are NO codes thrown and I have no idea how to diagnose this without spending a ton of money at Ford.

the car has a number of aftermarkets but the only 3 I can think of that might be culprits are the ProFlex Commander, a shift blip module, or the AWE switchpath to keep the exhaust valves open. Any help would be appreciated.

In my opinion, there is one way to diagnose this without throwing shit against the wall hoping for some to stick. Wrench on it back to stock and see if the problem goes away. Take it back.to formula and go from there.

What are all the aftermarket items? The limp mode you're describing can (I'm not saying it is) be caused by a piece of equipment that's not responding fast enough to "check-in" messages from the instrument panel control module. The IPC controls the various drive modes. It sends out "are you there and are you okay?" questions to other modules - ABS, BCM, ECU, VDM, and so on - and if any of them don't respond or respond with an error, it cuts you back to street mode or even less if the wonky module is critical to safety.

It's tempting to point at the AWE unit because the ECU relies on the exhaust open-close function working or it won't go to full power. The exhaust is supposed to be open for Track and Sport modes, but if the ECU can't see the valves responding to the switch when you engage the mode, it might tell the IPC to back off. Of course, it could be, and very likely is, something else.

He listed all the aftermarket items.

I had this happen at a track day. Went into limp mode and it was the blip modual. Unplugged it from the go pedal and the car worked just fine. I contacted the manufacturer of the blip modual and he sent a new harness. No issues since. Had to have it towed from the track, but shop found it quickly.

My money is on battery, followed second by your blip shift. Which module do you have? Mine comes with a switch so it doesn't constantly pull power.

My money is your battery is weak though.

When you say limp mode, what exactly do you mean? Just no power?

The car is not tuned. The batteries knew. Xineering on the blip module - it's always turned off via a switch and only turned on during track days. The AWE switchpath is probably more suspect. I'll have to start unplugging stuff and see what happens.

The car completely loses power and I can't rev over 3k. Motor is very sluggish.

I have the same module. Drop him an email for a new harness.

Seems that you are figuring it out with the blip module. Remember, if you need help with our equipment you can reach out to support. In this case, it seems very likely it will be solved prior to needing that support. Here is the link just in case: https://awe-tuning.info/support

That was it. I unplugged the gas pedal and put it back to stock and the car runs like a champ now. I'll get on the horn with the blip module guys next week and get a new wiring harness. Interesting that I didn't have to plug in the oem clutch harness for limp mode to go away. In any event, thanks for your help. Half to have the GT350 back.
