Not to be disrespectful but that's like driving to the mall when it's 100 degrees. Your car will limp soon enough.
What? Goofball?

I am wondering just how many people have talked to FP about the cooler issue? There seems to be too much "I heard it from someone". Perhaps we should start a poll to see just how many members have talked to FP. The more people that contact them the better off we will all be.
I agree. The problem is not systemic and as stanglife mentioned, there is not enough data to go off to give a specific cause or diagnosis. The more base/tech owners actually hit limp mode and actually report it, the more data can be processed to support the case. Till then enjoy your car. I personally will not track my car in the hot summer months even though I own a TP car. Why? I can't stand the heat and prefer cooler temps, my car also agrees, cooler temps are better. ; )

I really can't wait until 2017 when the number of cars with coolers outnumbers the ones without.

Maybe there should be a thread/survey "who HASN'T gone into limp mode on a HPDE?" I mean we hear from those who have...this was nice to read...before it derailed!

I have talked to them directly and the person said late summer something would be available. I hope that means before the end of September, but we all know there can be delays in development projects. He also encouraged me to buy my own cooler. He acted like I should have no warranty concerns with an aftermarket solution. He didn't put anything in writing, however. My expectation is that I will have it installed spring of 2017. I certainly won't need a transmission or rear diff cooler September-April.

Well, since we're in full-on thread derail mode (and I'll take some responsibility), I'll clarify that my comments on cooling (of which I've made many) are not about the car itself: which is awesome! I'm disappointed and frustrated in Ford's build choices. But, that's fodder for a different time.

In response to the suggestions that more direct contact with FP can/may be helpful, I will say that I provided a detailed description of how, when and in what conditions I achieved power reduction, and went through a dealer for very specific reasons. But, that shouldn't stop others from contacting FP directly.

Back to the OP, again, sorry for the thread clutter, but this is still a raw issue for many folks and it will take some time to settle. Get back on track and enjoy the car!

Cars without coolers will eventually be a minority. Even if there's only a 2 year run for the GT350, there'd be roughly 6500 cars with coolers and 3500 cars without (even excl. the R). If you think convincing people of the problem is hard now, just wait until most cars are properly equipped. When they release some kind of kit, that distribution will skew even more. Eventually this will be a problem that people won't care at all about because it won't affect them and it won't affect most of the cars out there. I look forward to that day because threads won't devolve into beating the dead horse.

Just my opinion, but so long as an aftermarket trans cooler doesn't impede the "fail safe" limp mode, it shouldn't affect warranty. I mean, so long as limp mode continues to protect the trans should the temp rise, not a problem. The cooler should just help to keep the temp down.

There are other threads with this info, but sorry to the OP I have trouble not replying here. If a hose or connection that's part of an aftermarket solution fails due to vibration will Ford cover the resulting issues? Remember the loss of fluid could mess up the transmission or cause the car to slide off the track in a performance situation. What if a mounting bracket or the cooling radiator fail? What if there's a problem related to temperature differential (transmission is plenty cold in one area but not everywhere)? Those are just some really basic concerns to start with. I could come up with a bunch more failure modes if I tried hard. If Ford tells me in writing that they will fully cover up to 100% vehicle replacement the cost of any damage to the car that has any aftermarket cooling add ons - no matter what they are, I will backyard engineer my own and have it on the car in a few weeks. We all know that isn't going to happen. If Ford supported an existing solution or gave us a part list and said they would 100% warranty any damage to the car that would be great as well. Don't misinterpret my tone. I'm not upset with you or anything. Just explaining my position that I don't fully trust an aftermarket change to the car and it's too big a risk in my opinion.

Exactly why i'm patiently waiting on the side lines for FP to come out with theirs.

If we have to wait till July-August, so be it.

Really glad to hear the Tech pack cars can be tracked in the cooler climates, once those coolers come out those cars should be bulletproof.

I started this thread in order to add more data to the tech pack limp mode problem. It seems some members didn't think the cool track conditions mattered. I don't agree because we need to compile all the data we can to understand what is going on. So if your car does not go into limp mode on the track please report it and the track conditions. On the other hand if your car does go into limp mode please report it and the track conditions. As the season gets going we should start to see lots more data coming in that will be useful to all.
