The last video sounds like faint knocking. For me when I spun my bearing I had to let the car warm up completely and wait a few minutes before I would hear it knocking and making weird sounds.
Should I be concerned about not being able to pull the connecting rod cap? Depending on what I find with the main bearings?
I guess if the main bearings look okay then odds are the connecting rods are good too?
that’s a lot of material for something not to be wrong. Hope for the best prepare for the worst

Very sorry to hear about your troubles OP, but just wanted to note something as a passive observer of this thread…

There’s plenty of recent instances on here where folks (me included) have gotten heated over some menial BS, but moments like this are clear proof of the value of this community. Bunch of members banding together with incredibly helpful info in rapid succession to help a new owner in need…awesome to see, and exactly what this place is about.

Best of luck OP, rooting for you!
Yes agree not once has anyone hit me with the “did you do a search” or “that’s been discussed several times already” BS non value added crap. Everyone has been great.

Hope you got motor money, nothing good coming out of that. Hate to say it, and have felt your pain...

I didn't seem to find this in the thread, but coyotes have a plasma coating on all the cylinders to help with the break in, it is normal to see some gold metal flakes in your first couple oil changes. I don't see how many miles are on your car but this could be it...

Hmmm well it could still be the plasma coating, very few things in the engine produce truly gold flakes. If your bearings don't have excessive play then I am not sure what it could be. Sorry I know this doesn't provide much help but you've got to always have hope!

I mean I didn't know and I don't think anyone mention this coating before so I guess that's a possibility?

Yeah, it's not an abradable coating that wears in, it's the thing everything else wears to. Besides, at this mileage that motor is all sorts of happy and worn in. I think it's looking more like some crappy, panic inducing additive dumped in by a well meaning idiot which has now afforded you the opportunity to take a full tour of your bearings in all their states. I'd be thankful for the peace of mind obtained but I'd likely need a new pair of shorts from the discovery process.

Amsoil UOA came in and I just dropped it off at UPS, so hopefully some answers soon on that. Amazon dropped on my ARP main studs so I'll try and work on those tonight

You can get to every main crankshaft stud from the bottom of the car with the engine still in place? I saw the photos, but wasn't sure if it's still in the car.

yes motor is still in the car, that's the goal to pull all the mains and check.
