Engine "typewriter" tick with no issues?

I had a '19 GT that was bought back due to paint and a '20 GT now, both ordered by me, both only driven by me.

Both of the engines sounded the exact same. Both ticked after the first oil change. I am convinced Ford adds something from the factory to quiet this tick, but I am convinced they all basically do it to some level.

I am not concerned by the tick whatsoever. Both cars drove/drive amazing. No issues with oil consumption so far on the 2020 (I have driven it 18k miles now, 7500 on the '19 before it went back).

I had slight tick, I think But hard to tell if it’s that or d/I pump put NMF Ionizing friction Reducer in it haven’t heard it since.

I really would like to see Ford actually figure out what's causing it because I'm sure a lot of us are wondering, instead of just saying "it's a normal characteristic and that SOME vehicles may have it", The fact that they won't inform us on what causes the "harmless" noise just makes it easier to assume maybe the tick can be related to a bigger issue on "some" engines.

Good to hear another owner with the tick or that had it showing no oil consumption or performance issues. I'm assuming you drive yours spirited from time to time and still no abnormal oil consumed?

Yes, I enjoy the car… it gets run up through the first gears fairly often. Also, when I say no oil consumption, I mean none between the oil change and the service light which was like 9700 miles last time.

I have this and at 41k. Started after first oil change.

Thats not the tick...that is a good running motor.
