Engine replaced, did it throw off alignment?

So my engine was replaced by Ford. I've put 2k on the car since and just noticed my front tires are down to the cords on the inside shoulder. The tires seemed to be wearing evenly until I noticed this. Tires have 15k on them.

My understanding is that they drop the engine down and it involves undoing parts of the suspension. I'd expect they would do an alignment after, but maybe they didn't.

They should have, but they may not have. Was there plenty of meat on the tires when you dropped the car off for the engine replacement? Is the steering wheel crooked?

Steering wheel is straight. Back tires wore out at 13k, but fronts still had some meat on them, my guess was I'd get to 20-25k out of them. So honestly not a huge loss at 15k.

I have a car lift (not drive on), and put the car up on it a fair amount. Always look at tires and never noticed uneven wear on fronts.

Just emailed service manager, will find out if they did an alignment.

Both my friend and mine (under warranty) were removed from the top by ford dealer

If you replaced your rears at 13k miles, your fronts couldn’t of been far behind. In 2k miles since the engine replacement you would have for sure noticed the alignment off it to cause what you describe. Both fronts in the same condition would lean to just worn out tires. If they did drop the complete cradle and not do an alignment the chance’s of it being dead on going back in and you not noticing in the driveability would be pretty slim. The other thing is at that mileage(15k) the depreciated value would almost be nill as well.

Yup, mine were corded right at about 12k and posted about it on here a couple months ago.

Had 2 new fronts out on and an alignment . Tow was out on both sides out of spec. They adjusted to nearly 0 on the fronts now but within spec. Still had plenty of life on them in the middle 5-6/32s).

A friend of mine has 17k and insides are corded badly. They are being replaced this week. Never had an alignment on that one so recommended they do and adjust toe.

A real shame to have half tread left and need to replace them.

Yup, mine were corded right at about 12k and posted about it on here a couple months ago.

Had 2 new fronts out on and an alignment . Tow was out on both sides out of spec. They adjusted to nearly 0 on the fronts now but within spec. Still had plenty of life on them in the middle 5-6/32s).

A friend of mine has 17k and insides are corded badly. They are being replaced this week. Never had an alignment on that one so recommended they do and adjust toe.

Agree. Service manager reported back that it was aligned after the engine replacement. Said it's just the tires and the fact that it is a track designed car. I'll be getting it aligned when new tires go on, will see if it is off. As you know, you can only do toe in on these cars on the front.

Mine did the same. Corded right around 13k

If you got 15K out of your stock fronts you did pretty well. Most everyone loses them by 12K.
