Depends. If I eventually buy new, just a ford racing tune/exhaust/filter

If I buy used I'll put just about everything I can bolt-on to it.

Light tint of back up light, maybe parking light/turn signals too. Oil catch can, engine tune, louvers if they look good.

After the initial dyno is when ill really make big decisions but right off the bat will probably be;

Turboback exhaust
Tune
Catch Can
misc extra cooling bits
Tint

Depending on how flexible Ford is with mods and warranty will determine any other power mods but that should be more than enough for me for a while

Since I'll be buying this for my wife probably just a tune and very light tint on the windows....

Anyone know if any of the aftermarket tunes for past year Mustangs can be changed on the fly? As an example, we have a Chevy Sonic. I can switch between a stock-ish tune and a performance tune using the cruise control switch. Change is near instant and can be done anytime. Almost feels like hitting nitrous if you do it while accelerating.

If I get the EB versus 5.0... After reading the concerns about deposits on the valvetrain, I wonder if water-methanol injection shouldn't be a consideration (along with an oil-catch can). It seems like those two things would keep the engine cleaner while adding some additional power, and bring the charge temparatures down as well. In addition to that, it would allow lower octane gas to make more power...

^^^I would still run premium fuel to take advantage of more aggressive timing to yield more power than you'd get with anything lower octane. You wouldn't be able to run as aggressive timing with lower octane before you'd get detonation.

water/methanol basically increases octane, so yes he could use it for way more power but it would hurt anything at all using 87.

Yes, but you would still make even more power with the water/meth with premium fuel than lesser fuels. Water/meth doesn't raise octane levels, it cools the air charge. It's not changing the rate at which the fuel burns.

My point simply being that water-methanol injection looks like it deserves investigation because of the several potential benefits.

I said basically, and did not mean literally, as I do not know the specifics about how it works. All I do know is that you can run a 100 octane tune using it with 93, with a properly set up water/methanol kit. So running it with 87 would be like running 93 except keeping your intake valves cleaner. It will not get rid of all the potential carbon build up, but it will reduce it for sure.

Power wise?

3" Turboback
4" Intake
FMIC with 2.5" piping and Tial Q BOV
gtx3076r with a .84 a/r housing and tial 44mm EWG.

If it were me....

Then the usual cosmetics, wheel & tires and suspension.

As long as you could keep combustion temperatures down with 87 and the other mods. The cost difference between the fuel grades is almost negligible though compared to gains you'd have while being safer.

I would imagine that a tune, intake and downpipes would be a popular initial setup.
