  1. Any Fiesta ST owners here?

I have yet to drive a Fiesta ST. I've driven the Focus ST and it was amazing! Really want to get a drive in with the Fiesta ST. I was really interested in possibly getting one in the next year or two used for a decent price but then the Focus RS dropped. Now I really, REALLY want a Focus RS haha
  2. Usefulness of a catch can on an EB motor?

Being catless will allow you to smell everything that comes through, not just fuel. Is it smoking heavily or is it just a bit? A video may help to really determine. Most people just see a slight bit of smoke and freak out unnecessarily. If it's puking smoke at idle, that's a major issue...
  3. Usefulness of a catch can on an EB motor?

Having some smoke and different smells while catless is normal at idle. As long as it's not smoking while under load or off load under vacuum you're okay.
  4. Usefulness of a catch can on an EB motor?

What exactly is your smoke situation? Like when does it smoke, what is the color, how heavy is it, etc?
  5. Usefulness of a catch can on an EB motor?

Not to mention, unless someone actually pulls the turbo and determines the oil is coming from it, it's simply speculation. I haven't looked at enough of the reports of the problem to see if any of those cars have catch cans already installed or not. If not, then I would take a guess that it's...
  6. Turbo Blowby?

Under load, it's definitely fuel. As soon as the load is lifted is when the oil comes through(the smoke goes from gray to blue). Do you have a catch can installed?
  7. installed osram cbi bulbs

They will eventually colorshift to 5500K but it will take far longer to do. Once it starts to colorshift to 5500K, it will start to lose lumen output. There's a difference between the burn in and colorshifting
  8. Home - what LED light bulbs you have converted to from incandescent

I'm using Sylvania/Osram Ultra LEDs. So far I have a 40w equivalent in my small lamp in my room, two 100w equivalents in my overhead light in my room(holy shit it's a lot of light), and two 60w equivalents in our living room which is perfect. All of mine are 2700K so they are a warm white...
  9. installed osram cbi bulbs

Let me correct a few things first. The OEM bulbs will be 4200K-4300K and produce about 3200 lumens. The Osram 66340(D3S) CBIs will generally be about 4500K initially and shift to 5000K after about 20 hours of run time. After the "break in" period they will produce around 3500 lumens...
  10. Mustang lights topic! Changing several of the lights, could use some help as usual.

OEM 4300K is rated at about 3200 lumens. The higher the Kelvin rating, the lower the lumen output becomes. The only exception to that rule are the Osram 66240 Cool Blue Intense(CBI) capsules. They are a 5000K capsule and are 3500 lumens. They are the best 5000K capsules on the market today.
  11. Mustang lights topic! Changing several of the lights, could use some help as usual.

Comparative to an OEM 4300K, an aftermarket 6000K will have a noticeable loss in luminosity. 8000K is even worse still. The more color you have, the less effective lumens hit the road. Depending on the quality of the bulbs, they can suffer from alignment issues which distorts the beam pattern...
  12. Factory rear gears - anyone installed something other than what's available?

Could potentially work but you'd also have a pretty decent hit on acceleration performance as well
  13. Anyone running LT headers with stock exhaust?

Good to know. Still wouldn't mind seeing pictures of one opened up
  14. ecoboost turbo lag?

The 2.3L EcoBoost is new. It only debuted last year. It has been seen to make 400+ whp but not with the stock turbo and it was with custom forged pistons and rods. This car will not make 400whp on the stock turbo, it's just too small. I can see the stock internals handling a good bit though...
  15. Factory rear gears - anyone installed something other than what's available?

Yeah 3.55s are pretty much the limit of what you'd want. Turbos love load to help build the boost. Going with shorter gearing would spin the motor fast but take load off it as well. Probably would be fine for a stock turbo but wouldn't recommend it with an upgraded turbo. Not to mention you'd be...
  16. ecoboost turbo lag?

I think you guys are looking into the factory tune thing from the wrong angle. It's not about EcoBoost stepping on the GTs toes or anything. It's about where Ford can take the EcoBoost in future years. If they gave us all the beans right away, there wouldn't be anything left for them to do until...
  17. Anyone running LT headers with stock exhaust?

I'd be interested to see a stock GT muffler cut open and see how it's routed. The V6 and EcoBoost mufflers are definitely restrictive.
  18. PlastiDip durability question

As they've said, having enough coats is key. Having enough coats also helps if you ever want to peel it to change colors or what have you.
  19. Mustang lights topic! Changing several of the lights, could use some help as usual.

Well it sure does look like they are halogen. My guess would be H11. The headlights are 4300K which is considered white with the slightest shift towards yellow. 5000K is pure white. Anything over that starts to get blue. I would definitely not recommend anything over 5500K. You'd be forced to...
