Does the EU trac loc run hotter or cooler when compared to the USDM Torsen ?
I'm not sure what the temperature difference is, but from what I've read, due to the way they work the trac-loc runs somewhat hotter and also wears out faster.

Any one have a pic of the diff cooler setup? Is there a fan on the coil?
Thought I took a pic at Barrett Jackson when they have the new Mustangs at 90 deg for underbody view, but no joy.

I'll get a pic for you later today. But there is not a fan on the heat exchanger. It's completely passive and relies on the car to be moving to work most effectively.

Generally these have worked really well on the GT350s.

Thank you yes would really appreciate the pic. Will see how I’m going to add a fan when my M1 lands.
A fan post run will be critical if you don’t have much of a cool down lap.

FYI all the Ford Perf Racing School GT’s have a diff cooler AND fan on the coil running full time as soon as you key cycle. Recently did the FPRS school and had lots to talk about in the garage. 😁
16K miles on those 2015 GTs, all driven very hard on track and they are solid. Mustang is a tough platform, if proper cooling and maintenance done. šŸ’ŖšŸ¼

What is the normal regulated temperature when the cooler is running?
When I was driving my buddies GT350R on track, on the same day, the diff never got over about 265-270. Rock steady the entire time.

That is the max my diff (no active cooler) has reached in 4 track days.

I can't imagine they set the regulated temp to 260F. ?

I don't know what temp the pump turns on, but running on a 90+ degree day at 9/10ths, 265 wasn't bad for the flogging it was receiving.

My diff in the Mach 1 was at 310 and climbing after 10 minutes.

The car has an appointment on 8/25, so hopefully this can get sorted quickly.

Per your request, attached are the best pics I could get of the diff cooler without putting the car on the lift (currently occupied by another vehicle). These are from the diff facing backwards towards the rear bumper. You can see the cooler lines and the heat exchanger just before the bumper, tucked in behind the box for the Evap equipment.

There isn't much room for a fan. I think you'd have to move the cooler and would likely end up with something like the FTBR setup in the end.

So, was just thinking of one more scenario. On my Boss R when I picked it up I also had 350deg Diff temps and it was due to the pump in backwards (lines switched so it was sucking from the top of the diff) I only did one session and switched the lines and bingo, Temps never rose above 275F ever again.

Also caught it early so the pump didn't burn out. I believe the pump has markings on the ports.

Were those GT’s running Mishimoto oil coolers or some type of factory Ford specialized unit?

This sucks OP, and hope you figure it out. I overheated my 2020 PP1 GT diff the first track day out, was about to add a diff cooler - but decided on exhaust wrap and the BG75W-140 1st, and the last track day after the mods it didn’t come close to overheating. Different track though, 5 less corners.
Since you’re a M1, you should never have this issue. Hope Ford figures out the pump!šŸ¤ž

I did get confirmation that the cooler is NOT Ford but after market, but did not get a brand. Also the camber plates are from Maximum Motorsports. So using some non-Ford stuff for sure. Stuff that will void our warranties. lol.
